Tasty muffuletta! Got the 1/4 size because it was almost 3 pm. Would’ve been enough, but my wife kept taking bites! Will try for earlier lunch and maybe get the 1/2 size next time. Freshly made and highly recommend.

We visited this particular spot for lunch during the 'French Quarter Festival' with no regrets. It is located within the French Market. The reviews mentioned their 'Muffuletta', which we ordered, along with some sangria to drink, and they were all good. The sandwich was freshly made and tasted spectacular, just how a 'Muffuletta' should be. They served a nice-sized Sangria which was up-to-par, as well. It was a nice, cozy little place to stop by and have one of their specialties while seated across from it.

We had decided after reading about Alberto's that we would stop and get a muffaletta to go for our flight home. We got there right at opening time on a Monday. They weren't open yet but, we got the attention of the man behind the counter grate and asked him if he could make us a muffaletta to go for our flight home even though he hadn't opened the shop yet. He graciously agreed. Thanks so much for that!! My husband and I both agreed it was the best muffaletta we have had. The meats and cheeses were really good and flavorful, the olive salad was fantastic and had just the right amount of oil and the bread absolutely made the sandwich. It was wrapped perfectly to take along to eat later. The next time we're in New Orleans, we'll stop at Alberto's and get a muffaletta!

Since the Central Grocery was closed, we looked for somewhere in the French Quarter for a muffuletta sandwich since we had never had one before and being in New Orleans, we had to try one on our visit. Alberto's looked like a good choice, and we could not have been happier. The sandwich was delicious. Do not know how anyone else could make them better. We sat at a table in the marketplace and watched people go by on a beautiful day with a great sandwich in a historic area. Just a great setting and a great meal as well.

There are a lot of food kiosks in the French Market, so it was difficult to choose one. This initially won out because they had a large selection of beer and wine. My wife ordered a Greek salad, which was large, fresh, and delicious. The salad was also served on a real plate. I ordered a Muffuletta sandwich, which was delicious.

We were part of a small group walking tour with Jack from Destination Kitchen and one of stops was at Alberto’s at the French Market. We were excited to try a Muffuletta for the first time and It was absolutely delicious! There were 13 in our tour and a few had Muffulettas before & they said this was the best and most flavorful Muffuletta they’d ever eaten! So yummy!

Central Market claims they invented the Muffuletta. Maybe so, but Alberto's improved on it. When we visit NOLA, my wife has to have a beignet; I have to have a sandwich from Alberto's. I notice there are 345 reviews of Alberto's, and only six are negative. As I read through these, the common thread is that someone ordered their food right at closing time, or when there was a huge crowd, and the sweet lady behind the counter didn't treat them like royalty. I've never had that problem, and I've visited Alberto's every chance I get. The lady reminds me of an Italian grandmother, and even Italian grandmothers get tired after being on their feet all day, while putting up with rudeness. I have a simple solution to the six folks who were upset over something: Go somewhere else! That way the line will be six people shorter when I stop by again. And I WILL stop by again, and again.

Ordered the Caprese sandwich and it was very, very tasty. I’d go back again next time I’m looking for something lighter than standard Cajun fare.

Was very pleased to find that this place offered gluten free sandwiches. I got the gluten free muffaletta, and it was fantastic! I ordered the 1/2 muffaletta and the portion was large enough to last me 2 meals. Very satisfied, and I hope to visit this place again next time I'm in NOLA!

Ordered a half of a Muffaletta. Absolutely amazing. One of the best meals of my trip. Right next door to the best beignet place. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

The muffalato sandwich here is good. But the experience getting it was one I'd never repeat. We were told it would be a 35 minute wait. OK, fine. After 50 minutes we were still waiting. When I asked how much longer, they appeared to have lost our order in the queue. By the time we got our food, we'd waited an hour. And not one word of apology or acknowledgement about their error or our inconvenience. A simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. Instead, this place left a bad taste in my mouth. There's no friendliness or joy among the folks who work here, and I felt taken for granted.

Really nice sandwich place. Mufelettas we're a little on the tame side, with nice meats and cheese but nothing spectacular.

While in New Orleans, I stopped here to try the muffuletta sandwich. The sandwich is on many recommended NOLA food lists. This vendor is located in the French market which is only a short walk from Jackson square. The sandwich was delicious and is much recommended. Service was also good. Across from the vendor, outdoor seating was available.

This seems like the best kept secret in the French quarter! Fresh and delicious food for very reasonable prices. Outdoor seating available. Had the tomato mozzarella sandwich for lunch and egg sandwiches for breakfast. Coming back for breakfast tomorrow too! And it’s right next to Lorettas which has amazing beignets!
