I happened to be in Krog st market on a weekday and it finally was not crowded here. I have a chance to try it! I'd heard pretty good things about the food. I was the only customer and was easily able to place my order. I ordered wings and fried green tomatoes. The wings were OK. They weren't bad, but I wouldn't seek them out necessarily. They were cooked well, but the flavor was not a stand out. The tomatoes were a bit disappointing. The ratio of tomatoes to toppings was off to me. It was an overwhelming amount of remoulade and pimento cheese spread. So much so that it started to make the crisp fried tomato soggy. So if you didn't immediately scarf them all down, half of them will be soggy and lose some of that great crispy texture before you get a chance to eat them. Next time I'll know to ask for the tomatoes plain and get the toppings on the side.

I've been here twice since I've been in town working and I plan to come again. Easily the best fried turkey wings ever... It can't be duplicated. The cat fish is HUGE and seasoned to perfection and the greens are on point the cornbread is stupid good. Get the "Mama's catfish and spaghetti"! I order a 2nd piece with it and I'm STUFFED. The owner is awesome and they do it right

We all know soul food restaurants in Atlanta are hit or miss. I like to try them all...and leave honest reviews. I love soul food, but if it doesn't touch my soul, then it's not soul food. Needless to say, I gave this place a chance yesterday. First off, the customer service was great! My friend ordered their carrot cake, and I immdediatly spotted the raisins. That's when I knew I'd messed up, but I had already placed my order. I ordered their Mac and cheese, collard greens, candied yams, and cornbread. I was disappointed to say the least. EVERYTHING lacked flavor except the cornbread. The cornbread was alright. It was cake-like, which I'm not a fan of. I like cornbread made with actual corn meal. Anyhoo, the collard greens were watery, not even the meat in them was seasoned (hot sauce wouldn't even help). The Mac and cheese was OK, but definitely could've used some salt(It wasn't baked). The yams were disappointing because they tasted watery with a hint of cinnamon...very little brown sugar was used. There was no syrup in those yams, just water. In my opinion, the yams were cut up sweet potatos with some cinnamon added for razzle dazzle. I will say, the catfish that I saw looked good, but I wasn't in the mood for fish. Over all, I'd give them a 3/5. Just a heads up, your grandmother, nor your ancestors are in the kitchen. If you know, then you know.

The hush puppies here are the best you’ll ever have in your life. However, the service girl finds it hard to look away at her phone to even acknowledge you, and looks at you like “why are you standing in front of me? Can’t you see that I’m on my phone?” Same thing last she took my order, everyone has a bad day. But it happened again today - I didn’t even order, sadly because I wanted those hush puppies. That’s a sacrifice in business. I’ll never go there again, if she’s taking the orders. I shouldn’t be made to feel uncomfortable, because I would like to place an order. That’s what she’s there for.That’s the first impression and the face of the company, today I walked away and didn’t order because she made me feel unwelcome with the annoyed stance and expression. And never even spoke a word. But expressions speak all the words you’ll need to know. My friend said that he had the same experience with her as well the last time he ordered there.

Growing up in the South may have my expectations high but serving food categorized as "soul food" doesn't equate to cheese noodles being called Mac and Cheese. I could go on about the attitude or lack of customer service that the attended showed tonight but I'll cut this short. I wish I had a different experience or my $25 back.

I went yesterday 3/25/2024 to grab some soul food while in Atlanta. The young lady at the register was NOT welcoming at all. She almost gave us a look of why are you here.The yams were clearly from a can with no type of soul food pizazz. The whiting and fried wings were bad. Collard greens were ok. Get a cook who is passionate about your vision and get a hostess/cashier who is friendly.

Such a cool Food Hall. Even with all the options, Soul stood out! The turkey wings were nice and crispy. Cornbread and mac and cheese were fresh. Would absolutely return to try the rest of the menu!
This was my first time at this restaurant. The food was amazing, seasoned well, and fresh! I highly recommend it! I have been telling all my friends and family!

We live around the corner from Krog Market and we have never had a bad experience with anyone at this market till today. Their cashier is super rude. She was on her phone the whole time, even when she was taking our order. She clearly didn’t want to be there. We got our food and our order was incorrect. For sure we don’t be back at Soul but will be back at the market
