I think it's understandable that one would appreciate a hotel letting it's guest know their bar would be closed for a private event before they got there or when they checked in...guess Kimpton doesn't understand that

This is a really nice spot to sit and enjoy the scenery. There is a tremendous view of the runways and the airport in general. I would imagine that in the daytime you may have a decent view of the test track right down below this area.The night we went was a bit blustery and we expected it to be cold on the roof, but it was not. Really not sure how they are heating it, but it worked out nicely.The bar is stocked fairly well and the drinks were good, not stingy. The bar does serve some food as well. There is a restaurant downstairs that one would assume you could also order from.It rather goes without saying that the spot is a bit expensive but don't really feel it should be unexpected given the location and quality of the amenities and so forth. The spot is quite nice and was full of others enjoying the area. The bar at the upstairs closes 'early' but the area stayed open and accessible for hanging out.Keep in mind that if you come just for the bar, it is paid parking. If you are guest of the attached hotel then your room card allows egress.Totally worth going at least one time for the exceptional view.

VERY low key, a little too low key the SAT evening I was there - no DJ, no live music - I suppose it was just a fluke; food is good however

Beautiful Place, Great Vibe, They had a DJ/Artist. Drinks were super weak and I'm very light weight so I would recommend ordering something like a beer or wine instead of a mixed drink. The bartender was friendly.

Awesome view of the Porsche Experience tracks, which is why we were there. It was 98 degrees that day so fans would have been appreciated.
This rooftop is above the Kimpton hotel on the 8th floor. They have valet parking for $10 for up to 4 hrs and self park for $8 up to 4 hours. There was only one person there serving food and bartending. She wasn't the nicest but she could have been over extended based on being the only person. All drinks and food need to be ordered at the window not at the table.While the views of the planes and atmosphere is pretty cool the prices of the drinks are crazy expensive. $17 for a glass of Rose is ridiculous. An Oldfashioned was $16 and she mixed it in the whiskey glass. Despite that I was going to get a 2nd drink but when I went to order it she said it's past last call. When I said I never heard anyone call last call she just rudely says last call is at 930p and they close at 10.Parking: Valet and self parking at a fee of $10 valet $8 for self park.

We ordered appetizers that took 2 hours to receive. There were only 5 of us. The environment is nice with outdoor seating and planes flying overhead. There was also free champagne ? and fruit and cheese ? downstairs in the lobby. The rating would be higher had the food service been timely. A 2 hour wait for appetizers is just too long.

Casual environment. The food is usually good and the service is always polite and courteous. Last night's visit didn't go too as my girlfriend's order made her slightly sick. We'll come back on another day; I think it was just a fluke. Otherwise, worth the visit.
