The food was good. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. But it was overshadowed by the snarky rude server. He was loud, rude and extremely sarcastic he left a nasty taste in my mouth and soured my experience.
We had brunch today at Thumbs Up Diner for the first time at the Atlanta downtown Marietta location. Boogie was our server and she was super nice and efficient! We sat in a big red comfy booth and had our coffees within five minutes of arrival. We had the following: Southwestern Omelets- filled to the brim and delicious! French toast- super fresh and grilled with yummy warm syrup. Cheese grits- just the right amount of cheese and not too salty. Tofu and veggie scramble-sautéed seasoned tofu with grilled veggies on a bed of fresh spinach. Super healthy and filling. I asked for salsa to add to it and it was no problem. The only problem we had was loading g their menu on the phone... was slow to load so I used yelp's menu. Will come back again to order the waffles next time!

Thumbs up is a diner I visit to get those little girl memories. The food is always good. I get the Basa cat fish meal with grits and eggs. And that nice warm homemade wheat biscuit, with their homemade Jam. ? the servers could be a little more attentive, but overall, everything was great.

Placed an order through ubereatz. 4 drivers had to abandon delivery due to inability gain access to restaurant. Please rrmove yourself from delivery or Please hire leadership with the ability to strategically plan for these types of challenges. This is ridiculous Black restaurants really need to do better.

Great food with a fun laid-back local vibe. Get ready to put your name on the waitlist for brunch on the weekend. There's an option to add your name before you arrive - highly suggest. Choosing counter service was way quicker than waiting for a table. plates are really big. I had enough pancakes from the pancake special for breakfast the next morning.
Food is always fantastic. It's usually the wait time to be seated and the parking that create the problem.

I have always liked Thumbs Up, but this visit was disappointing. Normally, the service is great there, but our server last week was too busy on his phone to care about us. He got both of our orders totally wrong. We couldn't get refills either. We both ordered buckwheat pancakes, mine with blueberries. Big mistake! I guess we don't like buckwheat, but we have liked it at other restaurants. The pancakes at Thumbs Up tasted like sour dirt. This is the best way to describe them. We both thought they were horrible, with and without the blueberries. We both only ate two bites, and although we obviously ordered the wrong thing, the server never asked if there was a problem or even noticed that they were virtually untouched. He just didn't care or couldn't be bothered. I won't be in a rush to go back.

They try to take my money. I gave them cash money for my order, and they did not bring me back my change. I had to ask for my change. My waiter said,"they do not get coins change back if it is below $.50 cents. If it is above $.50 cents , they just give you a dollar. I do not appreciate someone trying to spend my money without my consent. I and I alone make the decision how my changes are going to be spent. I do not come into no place of business to let them tell me how they are going to do by my changes. I am not a slave. I am a free human being who has and is going to have the right to decide on how My Changes are going to be spent. I and I alone will make this decision at all times. The waiter did not come to the table to serve my grandson and I. For that reason, I decided not to leave a tip. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing . I will not return to this place again until they know how to respect and serve people and treat them like they are free human beings who make their own decisions and how their changes are going to be spent.
