I was very disappointed that I drove 75 miles to meet friends there for lunch today, 2/27, just to find a note on the door saying we're not open, things like that should be posted on line.

Apparently permanently closed? Waited until 1pm on a Friday (supposed to open at 12pm) and the restaurant never opened. Tried calling and no answer. Had eaten here in the last year and the food was good?

The food is great, and we love the owner. I know he’s been sick and struggling to be there, but he loves the area and wants to make it as authentic as possible.

Always love cajun, creole food, and this is our go to when we visit friends in Canton. Our friends said the owner was sick and the place was closed for a month, but has REOPENED! Just in time for Mardi Gras season. Can't wait to go back!

Good food and great service. The new owners are very nice and took good care of us through a couple challenges they experienced that night.

Fried chicken "po boy": it was not. The bread was fantastic, on its own. Far from a "po boy". The bread was two pieces, not split open. The single, chicken tender did not cover a good meat-to-bread ratio. It would typically be served chopped, too. The fresh cut fries: while decent, they are not cooked properly. They were soggy and under seasoned. If you're doing fresh cut, take the time to blanch, cool, then fry again.Shrimp and grits: c'mon, seriously? The grits were so thick that you could spackle a wall. The shrimp were salty and cooked hard, meaning they were overcooked. As well as served with zero sauce. Shame. This is not cajun food. An attempt at best.Server was nice. Atmosphere was lacking - no music...dead quiet. For opening, no paper towels in the bathroom. Also, to owner: put a proper shirt on, especially serving guests!! Take some pride, man.

We were looking forward trying this canjun restaurant. No jambalaya available - sandwich with catfish/shrimp was a disappointment - small piece of fish, 2 shrimp lots of breading on a bun for $16!
