We got cuban sandwiches, and wanted to get a rum cake but found out that you have to choose the exact rum cake flavor before ordering food so it can be rung up with the order. The process was not well defined and was very clunky. Unfortunately we didn't get to try any rum cake. The sandwiches were just okay. They were both kinda dry. We wouldn't go out of our way to go back.

OMG! The food here is excellent! I had the Cuban Empanada and spinach pie. Both were incredibly good. In fact, crazy good. But the Rum Cakes are out of this world amazing. Just writing this I'm craving a bite. They are soft, moist and packed with flavor. My only suggestion is that the Rum Cake Lady seriously needs to open a full restaurant. The current location is small with limited parking and seating. Her talents need room to stretch and reach more people who deserve to have this WOW experience too.

Honestly, I hate leaving rough reviews, but I was SO disappointed here. We got two empenadas (one beef, one chicken), a coffee, a chicken bowl with plantains, and a beef cuban sandwich. The bill came to about 60$, which is pretty steep for two small lunches and an empenada apiece...Honestly, wouldn't have even minded the price if it had been good, but the wafer-thin beef was a single tough, overcooked piece on admittedly good bread, which is the source of the 2 stars. I asked for pickles on the sandwich and was told they didn't have a button on their register for that... which is kind of an odd way to restrict a basic condiment addition. Speaking of condiments, 50c per container that are barely filled with flavorless chimichurri and sriracha mayo gave the impression this place is scraping every dime out of an order instead of caring for quality-of-service.They sent two chicken empenadas instead of 1 chicken and 1 beef, which we took to the kitchen window and were told 'okay' and then it was never addressed again, so getting ignored didn't feel great. By then we were over the meal so we didn't continue to pursue the issue. The chicken bowl was just some rice, chicken, and beans. No chopped tomato or cilantro or onion or any default sauce, and it was frankly bland. Not wanting to waste the $$ by tossing it, we brought it home and added it to next morning's breakfast and spiced it up, where it became servicable. Finally, my last complaint is the complete lack of ANY kind of self-service station in this restaurant. I had to ask (twice) for a specific number of napkins at the front register to get more than the single napkin sent with our meal, which is hardly a major ordeal but the presence of people ordering meant i had to wait in a very cramped side room just to get napkins while my food chilled in the only dining area, which is just vinyl tarp covering some tables.I've traveled to Cuba, I'm a HUGE lover of latin food, and I was so excited based on reading the menu, but I can't hide the disappointment we felt eating here. I'm sure there's a good dining experience to be had, but we could not find it here.

got the vegan bowl which was very filling. A choice of white or yellow rice with black beans, spinach, chimichurri sauce , and plantains ( baked). The Cuban bread is also vegan. They have a vegan "Cuban" sandwich which is nothing like a Cuban but another vegan option at least. It was $11 for the vegan bowl and $4 for the whole loaf of Cuban bread. My husband really liked the Cuban sandwich and black beans have a yellow rice and plantains as well. Would definitely go back!

The four rum cakes our family got were super tasty. Even the gluten free two my wife and I tried were some of the best GF deserts we have ever had! The fried plantains were amazing, too. The kids want a large cake shipped for each of their birthdays!

Found this restaurant on Google while trying to find something yummy to eat while on vacation in the area. Had an amazing steak sandwich and tried quite a few random smaller things off the menu, which the empanada was fantastic. Didn't pick up any dessert and greatly regret it as they all looked delicious!Parking: Limited spots in side lot next to building
