Brisket didn’t have a smoke ring or Smokey flavor. Ribs were solid, mac and cheese were solid. Great service and clean place. Garlic bread instead of white bread with bbq is weird to me.

I had high hopes for this play after seeing so many reviews on Google and a good rating. Usually, that's a good sign to me when trying a restaurant for the first time. Unfortunately, this wasn't that case. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because my waitress was good, and it was cheap, so I'm not so upset.My waitress was great, and the restaurant seemed clean, but that's where the positive experience ended. I've been to BBQ and smokehouse restaurants all around the country, and this had to be one of the worst I can remember ever being to. The food reminded me of cafeteria food TBH. The "smoked" chicken wings were chewy, the brisket was dry, the mac and cheese had ZERO flavor, and it tasted like it was made with artificial cheese, and the string beans tasted like they were fresh, from can to table. Most BBQ and smokehouse restaurants I go to, I barely like to pit BBQ sauce on my flood because I want to taste the goof smoke flavor, at this place, I had to flood everything with sauce to make it somewhat enjoyable.I have never been to a BBQ/smokehouse restaurant where ALL the food was so bland. Even the "famous" sweet tea was bad, something that is a staple for the south. It tasted like horrible. The only thing that had good flavor was the cornbread, but make sure you have a glass of water because it was DRY. Two of the BBQ sauces were pretty good, which is important because you will need it!How this restaurant received so many 5-star reviews is a mystery to me. I would not recommend this to anyone unless your main goal is to have a cheap meal.

We have visited here for years because it is a childhood favorite for my husband. They keep making changes that have changed the experience and taste. Disappointed but it was decent. we will no longer make this a definite stop on our trips to visit family in the area

We frequent Sonny's a few times a month and the past few visits have been subpar to say the least. Not with the service but the food. The first visit this month Match 2024 the baby back ribs were extremely tough and had to be ripped apart. The St Louis ribs have always been traditionally tougher than the baby back ribs, but this visit, was the opposite. We figured we would give another try and my wife ordered the dry rub ribs and they were even tougher than the baby back ones previously. I don't know who the cook is but they obviously do not know how or are not following the instructions on how to cook ribs. I mean they were so tough that I tried pulling a rib off the rack and had to pull so hard that it went flying in the air and landed on my shirt staining it. Pulled pork is still good, if you want ribs go to Chilis.

First time visit to sonny BBQLong wait to be seated (not busy) long wait to be asked for drinks. Food came out really fast. My sweet potato was so cooked it was like baby food, asked for regular butter and sour cream, she said they don't have sour cream for customer it was used only for there use in there cooking, she did bring my2 smallll butter's, Oh well it wasn't eatable anyway. My shredded pork was to soft also, the texture didn't feel like meat, the waitress when she got finished with her big group she came and got me another side dish, tried my friends pork rib I would give it an 7.At this point I wouldn't refer a friend.
