If you're looking for an experience that you might expect to find at Dollywood or themepark or something similar, then this is your place. The comparisons are too similar b/c the food is a bit overpriced given how uncreative the menu is and how bland the flavors are. In addition, you're getting the "on the border" type of margaritas which is sugar rich and tequila poor. With an atmosphere this good and the staff this good I might come back after they've figured out which spices to add to their food.Parking: It's Buford, if it's packed on the street use the empty parking deck.

My wife discovered this restaurant recently and told me we had to go together. It's too bad they don't have a frequent diner card, because we would certainly benefit! ? I think we've been there 8 times now??The food is top notch and our service has always been efficient and friendly, from the hostess stand through the dining experience. The other night, we had Gladys as our server and she was perfect. So friendly and adept at anticipating everything. Can't recommend this place enough. And if you go, ask for Gladys. We're big fans after just one sitting with her. Wish all our servers had that much friendliness and joy!

I love this restaurant!! 4 visits, and I can't say enough good things about it! First of all, the food is top notch! On my most recent visit, I ordered the mixed fajitas (chicken, steak, shrimp) and was asked how I wanted the steak cooked. And, the steak came medium rare like requested!! Delicious! Also, the rice is fresh and fluffy...not over cooked like most Mexican restaurants. While the food was fantastic, the service was even better! Gladys was our server and she was outstanding! Fast and professional! As a former waitress myself, I could see her excellence from her initial greeting. We will make this our go to spot!

Excellent food and drinks. However due to extremely poor service I will only award 2 stars for overall experience. When we first arrived we were informed that they were out of salsa. Hmmm..,it would seem that salsa would be a staple at a Mexican restaurant. Our server was not attentive whatsoever. When we asked again for salsa because we saw other tables getting it, she finally brought us some an hour after sitting down. When we finally asked for the Manager, he apologized and assigned us another server, telling us that our server had been asking to go home all night. Clearly she was not interested in being there. The new server then showed up and was quite pleasant. However the original server kept stopping by, but now with attitude. It was obvious that the manager had reprimanded her, but did not make it clear to stay away from our table. This in my opinion is a failure in management. You’ve got to do better, guest experience should be your #1 priority.

First of all: not a local guide, not comped in anyway for the review or food.If I could rate 4.5 I would. The location and ambiance is fantastic. The space is large and open and well decorated - a great place to spend some time and have a meal. The music was loud enough to add to the atmosphere, but not so loud it overpowered conversation. The food was good for the price. I had the barbacoa, and it was very good - maybe not the best I have ever had, but for the price it definitely delivered. As a starter we ordered A Street Corn Named Desire and I highly recommend this. It is an absolute diamond in the menu. The service was friendly, manager was making the rounds; my only ding is we regularly waited for refills. When our server was present, she was great. It’s just that when eating spicy, delicious Mexican food, making sure the glasses don’t stay on empty is key, and ours were empty more often than they should have been.Overall, definitely recommend and will be back.

I'm so effin angry and offended with this place. Zero service!!! They made us feel very uncomfortable, we wanted to pay and walk out without even finishing our meals. This place feels like a Timsqare tourist trap. There is nothing Mexican about this place. The food:They call it street corn, but it actually tastes like microwaved canned corn dragged through the streets. Not going to recommend or visit again till I hear the food quality and service has improved. For the price of food and drinks you expect better service and quality.Definitely does not belong on Main Street Buford. Worst food and service on Main Street. The service was unattentive. The food:The nachos were greasyStreet corn was out the can tasteQueso was okEnchiladas was okMargarita was ok.. but not worth the NYC price of $14 for one small glass. It was not made the way as we asked. The atmosphere and decor is great. It's a shame it's wasted on such a terrible place. The music was the best part. All my 80s favorite New Wave and 80s Rock.

Food was good but expensive. The salsa is delicious. The service was amazing. The atmosphere is very cool. Stained glass everywhere from the other side of the world. Located in an old train station. With a 1900's tractor that was found in the old train station elevated on rails above the bar.

Hard to find a Mexican restaurant where you like the chips, salsa, guac and cheese dip! That is followed by terrific entrees. Great service. Cannot say enough about the charming atmosphere. Can't wait to share this gem with out of town guests.

We arrived at 6:30. Called to table, opps not ready, another 20 minutes to clean table. Seated at 8:30. Not served until 9:45. People seated after us served 30 minutes before us. Was our second visit, first was similar. Food is great but served cold, avoid weekends. Left at 10:30. Four hours.

Ahhhhh yes!!! My new favorite Mexican restaurant! Brought to you by the same owners as Bare Bones Steakhouse next door, which is fabulous for a fun night out, Off The Rails far exceeded my expectations. The decor/atmosphere is so well done and so fun! They outdid themselves, truly! Our service was excellent. We went on a Saturday afternoon so the restaurant wasn't super busy but I love that it's a large space with many tables so that I don't have to worry about a long wait (hopefully!) The menu is great, it's tough to decide what to order. I had the veggie fajitas which was a huge portion and delicious! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, including my picky kids. They even liked the salsa which was flavorful but not too spicy. The chips were great and felt fresh and homemade. The queso was awesome - I'm picky about queso, y'all...but this was good! Perfect consistency (don't you hate thin, runny queso?) I got a house margarita and THANK YOU for not using nasty sour mix! It tasted totally fresh and was dangerously delicious. So excited that we had such a great first experience and looking forward to going back often. Such a great addition to downtown Buford's already fantastic restaurant scene. (Hot tip: Go for ice cream at Buford Station Creamery down the street afterwards!)Vegetarian options: The veggie fajitas were awesome!Parking: Since the restaurant is located on the west end of Main Street, there is plenty of parking along the railroad tracks toward Bona Allen. (Further east on Main Street, parking is typically tough to find because of all the businesses.) There is also a deck behind the Main Street businesses, but I've always found a spot on the street.Kid-friendliness: My 3 kids ages 10-13 all loved their food! They have strawberry lemonade too!Wheelchair accessibility: No steps at all, could easily navigate in a walker or wheelchair.

Been wanting to go for awhile, place was really nice inside, probably the best looking Mexican Restaurant ever, worth a visit just to check out the decor. Had the Off the Rails Fajitas, best part was the steak portion, another best ever, steak was so tender. All in all, agree with most of the reviews, abit pricey for Mexican food, $27 for Fajitas. This is not Pappasito's quality. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. May return for special occasion but won't be a regular stop on our dining rotation.
