Not fancy, not expensive, just plain good. I'm not a local but if I was, this would be a frequent stop. No more expensive than fast food (cheaper in some cases), but MUCH better quality. I wish there were more Burt's in this world.

Came in for lunch and ordered the lunch ribeye. Now, for $10 i know i'm going to get a pretty thin steak that's going to be hard to cook to any temp preference. I'm aware of that.While waiting on my food, I'm looking around and this place is absolutely filthy. I can't guess how many decades it had been since they last swept and mopped this floor.Steak comes out (quite a bit longer of a wait that i would expect considering there's only 1 other table here) and it is swimming in some kind of brown sauce. I mean the plate is a swimming pool for this steak.Yes, the steak was thin, as i was expecting, but looking at it there's not a bit of maillard reaction on it. It looks boiled. Cut into it, not a bit of pink, it's fully well. Take a bite, and it's the damn saltiest thing I've ever put in my mouth. Completely inedible. I honestly believe they started with Dale's marinade (which i already loathe) added garlic salt to it, and then boiled the steak in a pan in it. Terrible texture and any beef flavor was completely lost to the salty marinade the steak was swimming in.After that 1 bite, I knew there's no choking this steak down. I did something I've never done before, left and refused to pay for that abomination they call food.

My first time here. I'm not sure if they have an actual server. Here's the experience we had with the female who took our order.Had to ask for a menu. She forgot to bring us drinks, cutlery and stepped into the dining area yelling out what food she had and waited for someone to claim it. There were 10 people in the dining area.Possibly new to the job, idk.I went for the sole purpose of schnitzel.I rcvd a very thick piece of pork. The breading was thick and had a twinge of sweetness to it, the gravy was very thick and was a heavy flour gravy.Nothing like a true Schnitzel.However, for what it was, it was a 7/10.If you want a thick piece of breaded pork ( I don't suggest the gravy ), it's a good price.I had no clue that the server wouldn't bring a check. Actually, she disappeared and I never saw her after she brought the cutlery. Another employee told me to go to the counter to pay.I liked the atmosphere. Nothing special about it and that's what I wanted.I'm still on my search for authentic schnitzel so I won't visit this place again.

Sadly disappointed! Food came out cold. Server was HORRIBLE! Beef tip and rice smelled old, very watery no flavor. Chicken looked like it was microwaved. very shocking experience. Definitely will never return. Table was dirty, flies flying around.

I have too be brutally honest, THIS ONE IS A BIG NEGATIVE! nothing worked right on this plate. I'm leave like that..Had the schnitzel, bake potate and fried pickles. The schnitzel was tender but had no flavor & the gravy was not good. Fried pickles was soggy & extra greasy and only gave me 6pieces. I used to go here for years. But I guess the good cooks left and the quality control went downhill. I got a moldy steak for the third time and they wanted to argue with me and say that it was fresh. I know what it tasted like and I used to eat there a lot of times a year. But not anymore. Ruined my whole shift at work because I have nothing to eat now. I would just spend your money somewhere else. Fresh market and Publix have better steaks than these people. Heck, a Mexican steak from Piggly Wiggly would taste better than this. And then they had the nerve to raise their prices even more.

My main purpose of going to Burt's Butcher shop is their food. The menu items that I order include schnitzel fingers, chef salad, hamburger steak. Burt's use to have specials during the week, they may still do. The specials are really good. The customer service is really good most of the time. The restaurant is older, but the areas where you eat are clean.

A hidden gem!!! I went in tonight and didn't realize Burt himself was taking care of me, what a sweet, kind man!!! I can't say enough nice things about the experience except to please go and try Burt's if you haven't yet! You will not be disappointed and don't forget to try the beef tips and rice with green beans!! Yummy, yummy!!! ❤️?
