Rids were over cooked. Rib meat was hard like Jerry. Sauce was put on the meat in the box. Overall I was disappointed. I will not recommend the ribs. The stew was ok but not outstanding.

A local BBQ joint with a lot of country lovin! One of the biggest surprises were the prices, you're going to eat well at a very reasonable cost. The Brunswick stew is delicious and the meat in general always seems to be cooked just right, someone knows what they're doing there!
For the price, you can't beat Macon Road BBQ. Maybe not as flashy as Country's, but the food is just as good if not better. And I would take their lunch and service over Country's any day of the week.Parking: Limited due to the size of the building, especially at lunchtime. If you've been there at that time, you know.
It's a Columbus must-stop institution for a reason. See that pile of wood in the photo? It tastes even better. I like the sliced bbq, it really brings out how soft they make the meat.
The woman who took the order is most definitely the highest factor into 4 stars. She was very nice and knowledgeable. The food portions are the other factor. However, it wasn't good. Maybe if it was seasoned it would be worth it. Just a miss for us unfortunately.

Went there to get two meals. The ribs are not big we called them when we got home and said if there are large ribs, you only get four we spent $34 on two plates very unimpressed.

I was a kid in Columbus in the 70s. I cried when it burned down. I moved back to Columbus after 50 years. The food at Macon Road has lived up my memory. I am one happy man. Went there for dinner last night and back for lunch today. ?
