Margaret and Neal are AMAZING along with their Southern Straws!!! Being from New Orleans cheese straws are often served as an hors d'oeuvre. Mom and Dad made them for all of their friends for Christmas. Mom had a Wearever Super Shooter (electric cookie press) and used that. They are very labor intensive to make and are made with a lot of ❤️.I stumbled upon Southern Straws at the Cashiers Farmers Market in Cashiers, NC. They were just like Mom & Dad's cheese straws but only smaller. I ate an entire box of original cheese straws in one sitting. The happy memories of Christmas tree trimming parties, helping my parents package them in tins and delivering them to their friends.They looked forward to them year at year.It wasn't long before I ordered a case for the winter because the Cashiers Farmer Market closes for the winter. The next summer I found them at Maple Rose Gift Shoppe here in Lake Toxaway, NC a closer supplier but they too close for the winter. I now stock up for the cold winter months.I enjoy them so much I thought my siblings and their families would love them. I went online and placed an order of a case for each for them. They said these taste just like Mom & Dad's cheese straws. Even a two year old niece devoured them.Margaret reached out to me saying she knew where we lived and loved the area. I sent her a picture of Mom's recipe card. Margaret showed me Neal's industrial sized cheese straw extruder. There are 4 types of flavors: Mild, Original (my favorite), Spicy and Everything (new). I've been a customer for approximately 6 years. I discovered them by accident waiting on my wife to finish with her hair dresser. They were located in the shop next door. I smelled this wonderful odor and stepped in side. It was the holidays and I thought I had wandered into one of Santa' s workshops. The place was a beehive of activity. Everyone was so busy making cheese straws in this tiny space yet the owner was so patient to take time to introduce herself and tell me about her business and products. They have since moved to a much larger location as their business has greatly expanded. I usually show up just before Christmas to purchase cheese straws for family members. I catch them during their busiest time with my small order but they treated like their best customer. The cheese straws are the best as well as customer service.

Purchased the spicy cheese straws on a whim as a road trip snack from Rutland Farms in GA. Absolutely addictive! Unlike other reviewers, I didn’t grow up in the South w/ a family member that made these. But I liken them to flavor packed and cheddar filled cheez it’s, but so much better!

Received my first order of Southern Straws Original flavor today and WOW!! These taste EXACTLY like my mom used to make!!! They are excellent! Don’t hesitate to order. They are shipped so quickly. These are exactly like the cheese straws my Aunt Pie Pie used to make - the thin crunchy ones with loads of cheddar flavor. I have tried literally dozens of different brands of cheese straws over the years and Southern Straws are the best, hands down. You will not be disappointed--buy some today! Southern Straws cheese straws. I have tried many brands of cheese straws over the years and these are simply The Best! Descriptive adjectives include delicious, yummy, perfection, delectable, awesome, cheesy and amazing. They're not cheap (but neither are other brands) but these are worth their price. Of course it also helps that they are made in Georgia. You will not be disappointed.

My grandmothers gift to us for decades were homemade hand made cheese straws and refrigerator cookies mailed to us out of town grandchildren just in time for Christmas. I recently visited Troup County (GA) and asked where I could get the best authentic straws. Relatives recommended your product at the local Piggy Wiggly. I couldn’t resist what I saw on display and drove back to south Florida with nine boxes and two large bags as gifts for coworkers and my holiday family gatherings. They were awesome in texture and taste, and definitely the best I’ve found since my grandmothers. It’s the simple pleasures that bring back great memories...
