I stopped going here a few years ago because I did not recieve good food at all, the flavor was not there at all it was very bland. Well I decided to try again and this time there was flavor, just like how it was when I was younger. However, I will not go again. There was so much yelling and cursing between the workers, it was embarrassing, and i want to say the owner, Shirley or shary, was yelling at her workers, NO ONE deserves that treatment or to be talked to that way. I honestly don’t see how this establishment is still running with the “verbal abuse” I witnessed. Absolutely not a place I would recommend and even tho I was impressed with the food again, it was replaced with disgust in treatment. No employee or customer should have to listen or see that.

How can black folks support a restaurant called “Mammy’s Kitchen?” What a mockery to our ancestors.A mammy is a U.S. historical stereotype depicting black women, usually enslaved, who did domestic work, including nursing children. The fictionalized mammy character is often visualized as a fat, dark-skinned woman with a motherly personality.

If you like classic comfort food then this is the place for you. It’s definitely a little hole in the wall but don’t let that fool you…..the food, staff and the cleanliness of the kitchen are above average! Yesterday my husband and I stopped for the Meatloaf and it was soooo good. Also had the green beans which were just like my grandmother used to make. And omg the hole potatoes taste like they were boiled in pure love . Can’t wait to come back and try another special.

Our family has been going to Mammy's kitchen I love their chicken biscuit with sausage gravy but anything they have is excellent
Horrible service. I use to go there atleast 3 times a week, since new workers they never have what they are suppose to have done. Salmon is never ever ready so you can never order a salmon biscuit. It is always 20 minutes wait on Chicken biscuits, and the lady working the window was cussing with other workers about peoples attitude, gave me my bag and slammed the window back. They really need better workers and management needs to handle this . Covington mammies is never like this always have what you want ready. Also it shouldn’t take 7-10 minutes per car people have to go to work and don’t have time spending an hour in the drive threw.

Very nice people. But was loud and the food was horrible. My fiance didn't even eat his grits. And that's what we came there for. I tried to order something simple "bacon egg cheese" sandwich.... The bacon was literally burnt. Maybe we came on a bad day. We didn't complain about our food being served on paper plates.

The service is nice, friendly. My food--on both occasions--was overcooked. The protein (grilled or baked chicken) was cooked 'til no moistness remained.
