The food here was amazing! Service was quick, and the workers were very friendly. It seems to be a family owned business, which is awesome. It was so nice to find a good hole in the wall restaurant like this—the portion sizes were great for the price and the food was amazing! We got the pulled pork, ribs, fries, corn nuggets, baked beans, and potato salad, and all of it was so delicious! I had my leftovers today, and am already wanting to come back.

I tried so hard to love this place. You really have no idea. In short, mostly mediocre food combined with one very shiesty action ruined the experience. I knew I had to stop at Cowboy's BBQ after I passed it a few times while looking at houses in Covington. Some of the best food that you'll find anywhere is often attached to a gas station. The good reviews and smells made me certain this was going to be great. At first glance, prices are amazing [more on this later...]. I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken. I chose fries and mac n cheese for my sides. The mac n cheese carried an upcharge, but this is reasonably common for places to do. I agree with the one diner who said the brisket was amazing. I really enjoyed the brisket. The fries were also fine thanks how are you? Wish I had more good to say about this place. The ribs were very old and mediocre at best. I understand that food can't be cooked to order at a barbecue place, but even barbecue has a shelf life. The ribs that I was served should've long been chopped into a stew special or something along those lines. The smoked chicken was a disgusting insult. At first, I thought I was mistakenly served an additional side instead of smoked chicken. Unfortunately, their service style is off the bone and finely diced. Storing barbecue meats off the bone is a delicate process. You have to take extra care to ensure that it doesn't dry up in the hot box. Unfortunately, no care was taken, so the chicken was dry and tasteless. The mac n cheese was very low quality. I'll happily pay an upcharge for the good stuff that's baked. I'll grudgingly eat Kraft mac n cheese. I will not pay an upcharge for Kraft mac n cheese. Honestly, all of this would've made the experience probably worth 2 or even 3 stars, but they have an incredibly dishonest, unadvertised upcharge for credit cards. The surcharge is definitely higher than their cost to accept credit cards. Some businesses eat the cost of accepting credit cards. Other businesses pass this cost to the customer. Cowboy BBQ uses this as an opportunity to improve their margins by cheating their customers.

The owners are wonderful and made sure to fix the mistake things happen and I appreciate that the owners reached out to me I understand things happen from time to time.We go to Cowboys almost weekly. I always get the family pack with the pork, buns and fries. Tonight they didn’t give us the fries. I went back and the other girl that works at the counter stated that the one who rang me up just rang me up for the pound of pork. I let her know I asked for the meal with the box of fries and buns she said yes that was the one. When going back I asked the lady at the counter could they make the fries she said no I already turned off the fryer time on door states they close at 9 time online states they close at 9. This was 8:08 when I walked in. Disappointed as I just worked a 12+ hour shift as a nurse and this was the supper for my 3 young kids. It would have taken 20 minutes to cook a side of fries if that. I live 3 minutes from the restaurant and as soon as I came home I noticed that the fries were missing so I came straight back and she had the lights off and states they are closed. I understand things happen, but to not fix what I ordered is definitely not professional. I know most of the employees are teenagers and I understand I have my own teenagers, but this was just common courtesy to do their job and remake what was ordered.

Ordered the cowboy platter. Ask for ribs, brisket and pork. Got chicken instead of pork. Ribs were mostly fat, brisket was hard and lots of fat also. The chicken, Cole slaw, and baked beans were good. The peach cobbler was all bread, maybe a slice of a peach in it.
Really hometown vibe, the staff was so friendly and warm. Food was Soo delicious I got the turkey melt with a side of corn nuggets and I about died over the smokey taste. (In a good way) definitely gonna try to be there more often during operation hours to grab a bite.
