Horrible service and even worse attitudes by any staff member we encountered. They ran off 5 perfectly behaved hungry adults. They have no system to check you in for seating and gets worse from there. Don't bother with this place.

Love the pasta and pies! Also have a glass of wine while you wait.

Don't understand how this place is rated so well. Tried to get a tap water but was forced to buy bottled because they were out of glasses, even though there was a huge stack of glasses available for beer & wine. Grandma pizza was very dry and not good at all. Much better pizza is available in Decatur so save your time and money and try another pizza joint.

Since both my wife and I sensitive to dairy, we have had difficulty finding a good pizza shop whose pies still taste good without cheese. We've only been to Avellino's once but the Deluxe definitely exceeded our expectations. The crust was perfectly crisp as were the edges of each pepperoni piece. The pizza was perfectly seasoned. Lastly it was loaded with toppings which I appreciated since we ordered it without cheese. Everybody at the shop seemed to be working their butts off! Thanks for your hard work!

Outstanding service, fresh local greens, delicious pizza. We can’t say enough good things about this local restaurant! We enjoy meeting Michael the manager. A must try everyone.

I've decided to give Avellino's 5 stars. The service was great, the atmosphere was great, the food was great. I only have one tiny complaint that's not worthy of a whole star deduction. We'll get to that. I've been following a strict keto diet for the better part of a month. I've avoided carbs and sugar and everything great that one gets out of life. It's been hard. I knew that I wanted to break the diet ahead of Thanksgiving. Because of that, I knew I wanted pizza. Because pizza is king. And I wanted beer. Because beer is king. I knew I should break the diet with pizza and beer, just like the pilgrims would want. Today is Tuesday. There are some choice options for pizza that aren't open on Tuesday or weren't available at the time of day I was ready to gorge. Ultimately, I decided on Avellino's. I have had their cannoli, and I think I've had a slice, but to be fair, it's been over 5 years. I showered up after work and drove over. I was only going to go in if there was room at their bar to sit. I'm not the type to sit at a table by myself so that's completely out of the question. I'd seen in other Yelp photos that the bar is quite small. If you're reading this review right now - yes, the bar is small. There are 4 stools on the long edge, and 1 on the short edge. I got lucky that there was a seat open. I grabbed the short edge. Lucky is a bit of an exaggeration though - there were only 2 other people at the bar. They just so happened to sit in a place where they hogged all the space. Anyways, I pull up. Parking is a non-issue. If I were here at 10am it would be packed due to the donut joint next door. For dinner service, or to-go orders, you will not be battling the sweet tooths of Atlanta for a parking spot. I sat down and was promptly offered a paper menu or a QR code menu. The pricing was different by $0.50 depending on which version you looked at. The QR code option was the more expensive version. I ordered a calzone. I wanted some peppers and some sausage and some onion. Typical order for me. I got the rundown of what kinds of peppers they use. I opted away from the super spicy/flavorful peppers in favor of a roasted red pepper. I didn't want to completely upset my stomach after a month of no carbs - I just wanted to upset it slightly. I ordered a beer. The beer options are pretty slim. Luckily there were at least a couple things to choose from, and it's not like the prices are out of control, it's just that the choices are not vast. Before I knew it, the food was out. Much quicker than I expected, especially compared to other local spots that serve calzones. Ok so if I had to complain about one thing, it would be that the food was served on a plastic tray and a thin piece of tray paper. Go google "we want plates". It's a real thing. Plastic trays give me flashbacks of highschool. There were people that wouldn't eat a perfectly good french fry if it even came close to touching the plastic tray in those days. Trays are gross. Give me a plate. Aside from that, the paper between the calzone and the tray disintegrated completely very quickly. I was certain that a couple of bites were primarily paper. I eventually just made that thing into finger food. Next time, I'll just be a bit more proactive and just ask for a plate. The guys that were working may have been the GM or Owner or who knows what. The main bartender/server guy was very friendly. We talked about Covid and Thanksgiving and how busy they've been recently compared to recent weeks. He was really nice. All this to say, I would absolutely go back. I live in the neighborhood and I love supporting small, local businesses. I love pizza, too. I think I may have mentioned that. Go check out Avellino's - I don't think you'll regret it.

Great pizza but literally a two hour wait this past Friday (informed it’d be an hour and sat inside for another hour). They were working hard but demand seems to exceed supply/production of a two man crew.

Pretty good food, people were nice too. Little expensive for what you get though.

Best Pizza in Decatur / Great staff and atmosphere

After living in Connecticut for 32 years, I struggled finding a legitimate pizza place until I found Avelinos’s. So happy to find a place that can cook a NYC style pie!

Absolutely wonderful thin crust pizza!! Crispy, crunchy and loaded with toppings. We had the Primo Supremo and it was fantastic! Wished they had fountain drinks but I guess we're still doing the Covid thing. Outdoor seating on a balmy Fall night was great too! Oh! And the price was amazing! Definitely coming back!

Best pizza in the Decatur area; thin crust, brick oven fired. Nice staff. Outdoor stables, and of course a takeout option.

Fantastic! Best pizza I've had in Atlanta! One of my two favorite spots.

Fantastic pizza in Decatur. Go SPO every time.

Excellent, top-notch Italian food and next-level pizza. This is what one can call a "classy" pizza joint making, what I imagine to be, Italian food that is a little closer to what you may actually find in Italy, or at least New York... But I don't know. It doesn't matter, the flavor of the spaghetti dishes and pizzas really knocks it out of the park. Small dining room in the Decatur location so there's often a line at dinner time (maybe that's changed a bit during Covid) but worth the wait! Then. There's. Il Diavolo. That pizza will hurt you. I am not kidding. You sign the waiver and think "this is silly". It's not. As delicious as this food is you'll forget all about that once you eat your first slice out of this 10" pie. You'll forget your existence because you will be in a world of pain. Scorpion, Ghost, and I do believe Carolina Reaper peppers are on this pizza, plus something called "Evil Dust" or whatever. Doesn't matter. As much as I enjoyed going to Avellino's eating the Il Diavolo led to one of the most excruciating nights of my life. Never again... But I will go back to Avellino's for the non-diabolical food!
