The server seemed new and wasnt on top of his game. He forgot to bring me a portion of my food then he couldn't remove it from the bill. We had to wait 10 min at least for the chief to remove it.The peanutbutter chip pancake was huge and awesome. The people I was there with all loved their food, just not the server.

Just great! I had the patty melt with tots and a salad. So good!! The atmosphere is exactly what u would want from and "old school" diner. They even had Price Is Right circa 1977 on the tv. And extra bonus, free ice cream!! Skip the chain restaurants and head on over.

This is a good place to get country cooking at reasonable prices, and the service is great.

This funky cafeteria (co-located with a drug store) was the power breakfast meeting room for local politicians for decades, and it was as real as real can be. As Duluth repositioned itself into the 21st century, so too (eventually) did the Rexall Grill. But updated technology (and a new level of cleanliness) has not really spoiled it. It has maintained its unique character without (quite) becoming a cartoon version of itself, as is true of downtown Duluth itself.Their grits are the gold standard.

Food is fresh and GOOD! The enviro not so much. Theres a guy with a ponytail that just has THE worst attitude. He gets smart and sarcastic with everyone. I saw him get rude with a delivery person. All the guy did was walk in and try to figure out who was working the establishment. The guy sees him but doesn’t address him. Then gets an attitude “what do you want” when the delivery guys asks if he worked there. So rude for no apparent reason. These types of employees are filling the work place more and kore and they’re attitudes dont need to go unchecked. Its makes for a hostile environment. So I wanted to update this review to give more insight. Lets get one thing correct. I LOVE the food here. And came in wanting to leave a hefty tip just off of that alone. The waitstaff however, made it evident that they didn’t know how to handle a patron like me. And that they were used to a “certain” patronage. Didnt bother me at all as I sat and chatted it up with the gentleman next to me. Because I wasnt greeted. And sat for a while before someone asked if I was here for a pickup. They judged me being black and dressed down as if I was working a doordash gig. Not one asked if I was here to dine in they all just kept asking why I was there…picking up…pickup order? When I sat down none cared to clean or clear the counter. The gentleman next to me did tho. The waitress missed some of my order and ran so fast to get it out I didnt even care to correct her. She brought out my food and failed to QA the scene. I said excuse me and I asked a young lady for syrup….she then passed the baton to a guy who of course didnt execute. But the gentleman next to me got up saw some syrup and brought it to me. They all checked on everyone multiple times around me. Not one asked or checked on me. I started to laugh at the irony of what was going on and I hear “you of okay maam”…surprised he knew I was sitting there. Now mind you I really wanted to leave a tip. Especially for my people. But as usual yall make it hard. my bill was 7.29…..my tip 3.71. more than reasonable for bad service. No worries Ill do you guys a favor I wont come back.

Tried Duluth Rexall Grill for the first time. The place is reminiscent of a blast from the past. Very homely and laxed atmosphere. It seems that a number of the customers are regulars on a first name basis. The food reminds me of a country kitchen. The service is excellent, checking in often to find out if you need anything.

One sweet surprise after another! Pulled into the parking lot disappointed to see it looked to be closed. Pushed the door open, turned the corner to find Rexalls beautifully appointed classic diner filled with mid century coca cola collectibles. Chicken and waffles - perfection. Best chili dogs otp. Open 54 years. Loveliest senior waitress warmed our hearts. Looking forward to making it a regular!
