I've been eating here since 1990. Great biscuits and gravy. It's had several owners since I started eating there. However, the food has remained wonderful. The current owner, Kenny, is a very nice dude.

First and probably last time here. The food is good but the atmosphere not so welcoming, at least at the time I came. I placed an online order so I expected to walk in pick it up and be out. There was someone closing out a tab with the host when I first I arrived so I got in line after them right in front of the host then afterwards he immediately turned to the left of him to close out an entire party of least 7 or more people when I could clearly see my order right behind him so I patiently waited until I was greeted by a sweet lady who was a server. She got my food and drinks and made sure I felt okay and her service was great so I truly appreciated her but it was definitely giving me racist vibes, from my perspective.

This place is good, clean, and delicious! It's very popular with older folks. The prices are great! Everything is fresh and you can watch them cooking on the grill and the ingredients they use.

My first visit with fellow church deacons. Family friendly breakfast and lunch with larger tables for big groups. Very casual farmhouse atmosphere. Was very busy during our meal. The owner greeted us and explained how he makes the biscuits fresh every morning. Food was excellent and look forward to returning.

First time to try this place and we loved it! I'm so happy it's so close to our house and now we have a local favorite to go to! I was looking for a local, home style breakfast place and we found it. The owners are really sweet and are a family operated business. The husband is cooking and the wife is at the counter. The staff are very kind and attentive and I could tell they knew their regulars. The food was hot and fresh and everything was delicious. The biscuit was just what I was looking for!! Hot and slightly crispy on the outside and super fluffy and soft on the inside. I like that they had a variety of jams and different creamers to choose from. The grits were perfect and they had a great little lunch bar that we might try another time.

I absolutely loved this place !!! I went there for breakfast.The southern atmosphere, food, and prices. There's hardly any place comparable. I loved it. I will be going there every time I visit my daughter in Duluth.
One of the last true American diners. Fresh food, great service, down-home atmosphere, and breakfast served all day. There are plenty of hipster-trendy spots around the corner in Duluth - and they are great - but this place is the real deal. Excellent food, basic American menu, and service with a smile where they stop and talk to you because they care. It's not trendy, but it ought to be. You won't be disappointed.

I have been here many times. The food is good and i can't say enough about how great the serving staff is. The person at the register was rude and tried to embarrassed me. I was basically accused of trying to steal and was given a lecture about how they have bills and the quality of their food. They even thought it was necessary to get a customer involved. I paid 24$ with a "discount" for a small portioned meal with a not ever deserved lecture on top. My family was so disappointed to hear this especially since this happened to me of all people. We liked having them in our rotation as we eat out almost every meal. We will no longer eat at The Family Restaurant and no good recommendations will be given for them anymore. Luckily there is a similar place next door that we will use instead.
