Probably the best brisket I've ever had. Moist, pull apart, flavorful. The ribs are excellent. The pulled pork sandwich was phenomenal. Potato salad excellent and of course cannot forget the coleslaw.We thought It couldn't get any better but the banana pudding was unbelievable. And the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Great experience.
Very unique restaurant, great bbq!! The hills are covered with memorials to the pigs that have sacrificed themselves to the greater good of bbq.. inside is a very helpful and eager Staff. The food is fresh and not left overs from the night before. The sauces are made in house and very good. Spicy, mild, and sweet. I will always come by here when I'm in ellijay.

We had a great time at Poole's BBQ with friends. The food was all delicious and served hot and quickly. The server was very friendly and attentive and if she didn't know the answer to a question about the menu she found out quickly! I enjoyed the Brunswick stew over macaroni and cheese and the onion rings are so good. I tasted the pastrami sandwich and brisket as well and both were delicious. The manager was also very friendly and accessible to our group. We will definitely be back!

I had the most wonderful time at this restaurant twelve years ago on a date. The staff went above and beyond to make the evening memorable and enjoyable. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Even though the date never went beyond that, I will always remember the warm atmosphere and incredible hospitality at this restaurant. It truly left a lasting impression on me and I look forward to returning again soon. Highly recommend it for any occasion!

The only reason for the two stars because the service was awesome we had to take out in and out real fast, since new ownership the food definitely is not the same, this is probably our last stop in. I remember when this place tasted like Southern barbecue, now it tastes like some northerner bought it and watered everything

The food and the service were very good. Between me and my husband we had chopped pork, ribs and brisket. We even brought brisket home.
I wish I can give this place 5 stars, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet all of our expectations. And that’s for one simple reason. We were in the area from Florida and decided to stop in, not realizing they close at 3 pm. It was 2:50 pm and I’m sure this has a lot to do with it. Our food was cold and the bread was hard :( I know the Mac and cheese would’ve been delicious if it was warm. I’m not sure if the bbq meat (brisket or ribs) are typically served warm or room temperature, but they were also not fresh per se. The flavor was great though. Now, my kid’s grilled cheese and cheesy fries were freshly made. I just wish the rest of the food was, too. I couldn’t find it in my heart to complain because I know they were closing soon. But I do wish I could’ve tasted the food fresh and warm like it’s meant to be. Cool decor and yummy sauces though.

We went here as soon as they had opened. We had the brisket and ribs. Both were great , very flavorful, and fall off the bone goodness. The collards were delicious and the baked beans. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back next time we come to town.
