Came down from the Chicago area and were on the look out for something new. It's hard to find anything we don't already have. We were pleasantly surprised by truth bar and grill. It really feels like a 5 star dining experience at a fraction of the price. Place is set up comfortably with beautiful attention to the decorating. There was no wait for service. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about all the food and drinks (which is a great selection). Drinks were never empty, the food was hot and the ingredients were fresh. For two people with a non alcoholic drink, appetizer and main course with tip was about $35 per person. You guys have customers forever. Can't wait to visit again next time we come back! Thank you! Me and my girls went there yesterday for the FIRST TIME and it was AMAZING. The food was perfect. The service was amazing and the wait time wasn’t that bad for the amount of food we ordered!To all the reviews complaining about wait time , PLEASE remember this is not a fast food restaurant. This restaurant is making sure your orders are cooked to perfection no matter the time. I’d rather have a 40 minute wait time and my food cooked to perfection than to have a 10 minute wait time and not meet my expectations. To the manager and staff there , we adore you and PLEASE keep up the good work .- Jamarion

Hands down!!! The BEST….breakfast place in the south!!! Absolutely Amazing… Me and my Husband are foodie’sThe drinks are very nice. I don’t even eat waffles, but this is the best waffle, I ever had. It melts in your mouth.

When we first arrive we had to wait alittle longer than expected, even though it wasn't a packed house it shouldn't have taken that long to seat us.Once we were seated it took someone 15 min to greet us wasn't a big fan of that. Food was amazing. But after receiving our food the waitress never came back I wanted to order another drink and couldn't we had to go to another waitress to order my drink, check out and pay our bill. The house rules say you have to pay a 18% gratuity regardless of party size and I don't like that because it was 2 of us & that fee was $20.00 and I honestly don't think I would have gave that in a tip due to the mediocre service. But besides that the drinks and food is really good.

The staff and everyone working here were very friendly and kind. 10/10 would most definitely come back for the catfish and grits or really anything else on the menu.

Had high hopes for this place. The menu looked great. I got salmon with creamy grits and eggs over easy. The salmon was perfectly seasoned, and the temp was good. The grits were pretty good and creamy but needed a little salt. Nothing a few shots of hot sauce couldn't fix. The eggs were consistently overcooked. We had (5) orders of over easy eggs that all came out over cooked. The staff was very friendly but the service was average and the food took a very long time to come put. Both could probably be fixed by better staffing, which I get isn't easy these days. All in all, it was decent, and I would probably give it another shot because everyone was so nice and welcoming.

This restaurant is truly the pride of Bronzeville. The service, atmosphere and food were top notch.I had the most delicious breakfast wrap. The ingredients were tasty, proportioned well, presented well and just plain delicious. My husband tried the Turtle Waffle Bowl and it was excellent.The staff was great! Truth restaurant will be a “go to” for good food, friendly ambience and good people.
