I came physically to the restaurant at 12pm. The man that answered the phone told me that they were running behind and told me 1pm they would be open. I came back at 1pm and the door wasn't open. I called the business 5 times and he purposely ignored my phone call. I will never come up here ever again. Yall are unprofessional

THE GOOD:The best dish here, for me, is the mac and cheese. I'm not a mac and cheese person, but I remembered they have good mac and cheese. The dressing and potato salad is pretty good as well (which reminded me that I used to only get a plate of sides with mostly mac and cheese.)THE OKAY:The collards are good, but no where near make me "wanna slap my momma". I could tell the turkey wing was seasoned, but it took me a few bites to really taste it (probably the gravy interfering with the taste.)THE NOT SO GOODThe cabbage tasted a little funny, like it had been freezer burned or something of the sort. The rice was not at all seasoned. The gravy is nothing like I've tasted before, or care to have again, and it makes the rice and turkey wings. If it were something I desired, you only spoon fulls (no bueno) - Unless the gravy was just that watered down.Summary:I will go back, but only to get the items I know I like. And maybe test taste what I haven't tried.

I ate from the food truck and it was not worth $20! The food was definitely basic. For the price it should’ve came with a drink.

This was my first time at the restaurant. The interior theme was nice. The staff was nice. The food was not so good. I really believe that the food was microwaved. My reason for this is how piping hot the and hard the yams were. I also heard a door shutting and a loud ding afterwards. The mac and cheese tasted sour, the ribs were luke warm with a hint of sour. I don’t believe the food is made fresh every day. So, unfortunately for my husband and I, we got sick.

Note: I did not order directly from the restaurant but instead was able to eat at an event catered by Cooking with Melodies. Chef Vic...time to laud the man. I am a vegetarian and one of the toughest things about being a vegetarian in the South, from a southern family, is that pork plays a central role in the seasoning and preparation of vegetables. Not Vics greens. His collard greens were the best collards I have EVER had (please don't tell my grrams or my auties). I also find that a lot of southern chefs are also very dependent on vinegar in the preparation of their greens...again, not Chef Vic. The balance between the oil and vinegar was just enough to support the natural flavor of the obviously fresh and hand torn collards. He also talked me into trying his scalloped potatoes. I have had scalloped potatoes previously and generally have been somewhat put off by their preparation. Either they are too thick and the cheese is more of a garnish than a balance to the starchy potatoes, or they are too thinly sliced and the cheese overwhelms them, and turns them into a kind of hash brown mush. His scalloped potatoes were perfectly sliced and the amount of cheese (and its crusting) was just perfect. Vics food is the difference between Southern and soulfood. It's soulfood because he clearly loves what he does (you only have to speak with him to HEAR it) and when you eat his cooking it nourishes more than just your belly.

I am not the kind of person that advertises food even as a truck driver, but I will say that the food here is wonderful! Great service! This is one of the best places I have gotten food from with fast services on such of a short schedule! I WILL COME BACK FOR MORE!

Soooo thankful for my 'sampler' plate last week from Chef Vic. He was extremely personable and welcomed me to his establishment when shopping in the plaza in which it resides. Holiday decorations were intermingled with musical instruments, hence the Melodies name. I learned that Chef Vic is also a musician as he shared specials offered including $5 meals. My sampler consisted of the highly praised potato salad, macaroni and cheese and beef brisket with bbq sauce on the side. The potato salad was extremely delicious and just as good as other Yelp reviews mentioned. Mac and cheese was good too. The well marinated brisket was tender and complimented the sides. Sauce on side was an extra bonus. Will definitely return for more, and for the other enticing menu options.
