Amazing restaurant! One of THE best places to eat for breakfast, brunch, or lunch in the Gainesville area.Incredible food for the price! All prepared with love and attention. The breakfast tacos ( more like burritos ) are well worth the money! Especially the steak egg and cheese for $5!The breakfast enchiladas are unique and delectable. Basically an enchilada with scrambled egg, cheese, and meat depending on what one you order.If you order a plate breakfast, not a taco or sandwich, you get a generous portion of refried beans, potatoes, or rice. Any time I'm near Haydees I make sure to stop in and eat as they have more than earned my business.The fresh handmade tortillas are a treat and I could just eat them as a meal. The red salsa provided on the table has good heat with a nice garlic taste. The green salsa pairs well with beef and milder compared to the red salsa.The staff is incredible. They're extremely friendly and on top of their game to ensure you are well taken care of during your visit. Even if you are just getting food to go, they are super sweet and conversational.The restaurant is always clean and orderly. Even when it's bustling with customers, they keep it top-notch clean, all the while attending to the patrons dining in at the same time.The only issue I have is parking, it's a small, tight lot and depending on when you visit you'll struggle to find parking. When you do visit just make note of the time and the parking lot, so you can avoid busy times and slip in and out for a meal.If you're in the area, I definitely recommend them if you enjoy good home cooked authentic Mexican food. I can't rave enough about this place.

If you like traditional Latin/Mexican breakfast fare this is the spot. As a friend, a Texas native, stated "the most authentic Mexican food outside of Texas I've found!" On my first visit I bought a number of different breakfast tacos & burritos & a plate to try the spot out. Saturday morning was PACKED! Standing room only. Parking lot was too. Always a good sign! Very small & bustling place. Lots of take out/pick up orders so it was a decent minutes wait time. Grabbed our sack to go & ate a feast for breakfast with four of us. If you want authentic Mexican- this is the spot. Never had tortillas this style & everything was hot, fresh & good! Be patient. Walk in & order to go. Them go sit in the car for 15-20 min if you're there on a Saturday AM... far better than feeling crowded & in the way

I cannot say enough good things about Haydees Cafe! We go nearly weekly and have not yet been disappointed by the food or service. The servers are always so kind to us and our toddler, who can make quite the mess. The food is always on point! Tortillas are incredible as is the entire menu. Breakfast is our favorite but when we get to go to lunch we enjoy a heaping plate of their tamales!

All homemade and that comes thru in the flavor. 2 visits so far, see many more in my future.If you are looking for the over salted, proceessed cheese coated mexican… keep going. If you want some incredibly delicious food and friendly service, this is the place for you!

Fast cheaply made Mexican food, my experience from past visits included: Chicharron en salsa= pork rinds from a bag with salsa(non authentic), gorditas are too small, chilaquiles= tortillas with salsa (lacked flavor, basically chips and salsa dish)
