Pupuseria El Mana Salvadoran • $
1411 Browns Bridge Rd, Gainesville

“Absolutely delicious. The pupusas were piping hot and perfectly cheesy. I wanted to eat all three but they were so filling I got to save half for later. Definitely deserving of many return trips. Also, the "coleslaw" was different and had a really delicious seasoning on it. I don't know what it was really called. There's a gas station attached so you can eat snacks and have a wide array for drinks.“

Pupusas

“The papusas are so bomb. I’d honestly sell both my kidneys for some. I don’t know what she does but they’re the best papusas I’ve ever put into my mouth yo. Like I can’t even explain how good these things are. She needs to make a cookbook or something. 10000000/1000000 recommend. ? ?“

Cheese Papusa

“This place has a special place in my heart. Back when I used to go to Gainesville college (before it became UNG), my friends and I would come here for their pupusas. For just $8 bucks (back then) or less, it would be enough to fill us for the day. I came when it first opened and the interior is still the same. It's dark and not a place I would say cozy. The only thing on their menu that I always come back and back again is their tamales. It's different than the regular tamales that you're used to. It's made out of potatoes instead of corn so the texture is soft and melts in your mouth. Their seasoning is just right; actually, it's perfect in my opinion. Since my UNG/Gainesville day, I have moved to Cali and have tried high and low, near and far, all the Salvadorian places I can find. No places tamales match this place. Every time I come home to GA for a visit, I would always make sure to stop by. I had their pupusas and tacos before but it's been awhile. I remember them tasting pretty good. Maybe I should order some next time. Their melon drink is the best. Not too sweet, not too strong in melon flavor. Its honestly perfect in my option.“
