The Ocean Club hotel is very nice. Great rooms, location and right in the beach. Unfortunately the only restaurant available does not live up to the same standards. We made reservations for our first night on Easter Sunday. We ordered some appetizers to start which, for the most part, were good. We ordered the New York strip, Lamb Rack (special), kids chicken fingers and kids cheese pizza. Both kids complained they didn’t like their meal. First time in history that our kids complained about fingers and pizza. The lamb rack was just OK. The New York Strip was sent back. It was fatty, tough and gray on one side. I was baffled. My only guess it that it was frozen and quickly thawed. It was the worst steak I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We tried to sit down for lunch the next day to find out that they only have a Brunch menu. It was Noon on a Monday and we wanted Lunch. There weren’t a whole lot of options so we left and went to Larry’s Giant Subs which was great! We tried for breakfast the next day after Sunrise Grill was busy and didn’t have any more tables. We were seated and left after 15 minutes with no one coming by our table to even fill our water glasses. We headed to Tortuga Jacks and seated right away. The breakfast and service was amazing. Definitely worth a 5 minute drive. The place was packed for Spring break all week and it was apparent that the restaurant and bar were severely understaffed. It’s a shame that there were so many issues.

Had Easter brunch with the family here today. Was super excited and had high expectations. They were not met by any means. Atmosphere was the only great thing here, and it's hard to mess this up given the location. Service was really non-existent - it seemed that there was one server for the entire place. Things took forever. In addition, took forever for the food to come, and when it did, our waitress informed us that what my wife had ordered, shrimp and grits, the kitchen was actually out of. So, my wife had to sit and wait for another meal while the rest of us all ate. When you place an order, you will know whether you are out or not; it is not good service to make the customer wait a half hour and then bring everyone else's food out. Will not be eating here again.

Breakfast/brunch here. Food was wonderful. Cooked as ordered. Everything perfect. Ate here twice so far. One more day to go. The rices are high, but so is everything in the island. But the food is great. Even our vegan could eat here.

Nine family members had dinner at Eight Ocean last night. We had reservations and a very nice table set up on their patio. Unfortunately, that’s where the good feedback ends. I cannot recall our server’s name because he was so nonexistent. We waited way too long for our food that wasn’t worth waiting five minutes for. In a place where shrimp should always be fresh and wonderful theirs was not and the cornbread tasted like it came from a Jifffy box. Lastly, it is an expensive outing with entrees in the $30s. Even on this small island you can find better places for the price or less - -The Wharf and Driftwood Bistro. Don’t bother wasting your time at Eight Ocean for dinner.

Place was very nice, but it all stopped there. The hostess who seated us was not friendly at all. Our server Brianna was terrible. Took her a solid 15 minutes to bring us water, even though there were only 2 tables full in the entire restaurant. Food took a long time to come out, and when it did 3 of us got our food and the other two had to wait another five minutes. Food itself was mediocre- avocado toast (a single slice of toast with a few slices of avocados) is much better at chain restaurants such as First Watch (and a whole lot less expensive!) wedge salad was less than exciting (it was ordered with shrimp but they forgot to put the shrimp on it), flatbread was actually tasty, and the burger was a typical burger. We have visited multiple restaurants on Jekyll, and this was by far the bottom of our list. Would not return.

Surprisingly delicious! Arrived expecting another overpriced mediocre meal from the another hotel restaurant. The food was great! I was drawn in by a previous review for the bourbon peach pie, but found out they switch the menu often. At the time of my review, it turns out they only serve brunch and dinner until April. I had the shrimp and grits which comes with andouille sausage, simply delicious! I also had the Georgia peach cobbler, which was amazing. The staff was very polite, helpful, and accommodating. The restaurant had a great layout with seating inside and out, as well as a large seating area of couches for sitting with friends for a before or after dinner cocktail. I recommend everyone stop by and try this place.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Eighty Ocean. We both ordered the chef's choice steak and were impressed. We both ordered medium well but the steaks were both well (very well). They were still great. 10/10 recommend the arugula salad. It is so simple but packed with flavor. The ambiance is perfect for a date night. The service was excellent.

Swanky joint. Somewhat pricey, but the food is pretty good. Do not drink the water!!!! Their table water was not good at all! Service was excellent!

Wished it would be more. Sat at the bar. Got a salad with fish. Salad was drenched in dressing and really small for that price, fish was ok but small. In spite of the fact that there were only 3 other people at the bar, the bartender didn’t notice that after my meal came I had no silverware, never offered water, never asked if I wanted another drink after mine was nearly empty, never asked if I needed anything or if my meal was good. Ordered bread, halfway through my meal, no bread, he didn’t notice that either. Had to ask. Never smiled or uttered a word. Came to get credit card receipt and never said thank you or goodnight. Just takes it. Sadly, I was disappointed with the whole experience.

What a nice place. Shame about the food and service. Our server (which I will not name) was non existent. Food was average at best. Not many better options around so I am sure they will get by.

The atmosphere is very nice. Prices are on the mid to higher price range which is to be expected since in Ocean Club, nice facility. Our service was terrible. We were seatedRight away. It took 15 minutes before someone came to take our drink order.Took another 10 minutes to get our drinks.I ordered a Vanilla Latte. It was not hot. All coffees were not hot. After 1 hour we were about to leave and go somewhere else. We were told our food was about to be plated. We waited. 15 minutes later still waiting. Finally we get our food. Daughter ordered waffles. Supposedly comes with whipped cream. Server says No, doesn’t come that way. Menu says it does! She got 2 waffles the size of a donut. I would haveExpected 4 that size for the price. So small they were served on a saucer. Breakfast sandwich tasted like a microwaved frozen sandwich. We had to ask for refills. We asked for ticket. Took 10 minutes for them to complete that. We wasted so much time waiting with terrible service. We personally will not go back to eat there again. Poorly ran staff.

I recommend going somewhere else for breakfast. The atmosphere was nice but cannot say the same about the rest of the experience. We sat and waited close to an hour after ordering to get our food. Once we got it, the food was underwhelming. Not super fresh, and the portions of some items for the price were shockingly small (ie, the mini waffles- $16- you only get 2 waffles served on a saucer plate, and they are MINI!) The breakfast sandwich was a good size, but was similar quality to a Jimmy Dean microwave sandwich, for $17.Overall, the service was disjointed and unorganized, showing clear lack of communication between the staff. The manager (I assume) came over to talk with us and apologized for the delay due to a few larger tables being seated before us, but we didn’t see any large parties and the restaurant was only about 30% filled. After checking in, it took an additional 15-20 minutes for us to get our food. I am not sure if this is common, or if they lost our ticket, but it didn’t seem the people at surrounding tables were receiving their food in a timely manner either. Ultimately we were offered a 10% discount off our bill. We will go elsewhere next time.
