BEST Shrimp and Grits Ive had in a long time, the cornbread? OUT OF THIS WORLD, delicious, soft, freshly baked. The atmosphere is so lovely, five star fine dining establishment, perfect place for an intimate lunch or dinner. This place is a hidden gem, definitely recommend.

we ordered the fried chicken breast and the meat loaf. The chicken breast was so over cooked you needed a steak knife to cut it. It was also a cut with the rib bones attached. There was a small strip of meat I was able to pull off that was dry and flavorless. The Meatloaf was plain and lacked seasoning but it was better than the Fried piece of 18.00 garbage. Either this is was off day or I have higher expectations than the other people leaving comments I will never go back to this place.

This experience we were overly excited about after reading a few reviews. Here was our experience:We felt as a family of 4, two adults, two kids, we were price gouged. It’s very unfortunate, but seems due to nobody else being in the restaurant the entire time we were there on a weekend night - they’re attempting to compensate with extremely high prices. A glass of cheap house wine $14-15 a glass is insane. The food the girls got (chicken fingers) was overly chewy and tough. Our meal was just ok. The meatloaf was good but nothing to write home about. The sides were good. The cobbler we got at the end was just gross. No fluffiness or goodness about it. It was like hard gravel rocks and canned peaches dumped in it juice and all.We threw it out.Our bill for 2 adults, 1 glass of wine, husband had water, an 11 and 9 year old was north of 100 bucks for a simple dinner out. The BBQ place across the way from them is 1/2 that price. We support great local business. This wasn’t a good value at all. My advice, give a value priced meal. Clean it up, make it brighter and welcoming. Get a new sign outside or a new location. We won’t go back unless they revamp a lot.

This was our first time here. Very cozy atmosphere with relaxing jazz music playing. We had no wait ahead of us and were sat immediately. I ordered the fried chicken with mac & cheese and sweet potato souffle. Husband ordered smothered fried pork chops, greens, and cabbage. Mother-in-law had the veggie plate. The pork chops and fried chicken were HUGE and SO flavorful. The chicken took about 20 minutes but was so worth it. Everything on the plates tasted homemade. Seasonings were on point. Now.. Let me tell you about that bread pudding... The BEST I've ever had. The first bite I literally let out a sigh. I was sharing it with my husband and I wish i had one to myself. The whole meal felt like 'home'. My MIL got the peach cobbler and said it was great as well. Service was great, waitress was friendly. Can't think of any negatives! Now excuse me while I dream about that bread pudding!!

I was there with a group of friends this weekend. We hadn't been there since they moved locations. We were seated immediately. It's a very nice, quiet atmosphere. Our server was very attentive. Had the catfish with sweet potato souffle and mac and cheese...delicious!

They provide a relaxed cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious and the customer service was top tier. All of our questions were answered and we sampled some wine to help make a decision. Will definitely be a return customer. Keep being great L. Marie’s family. ????

The restaurant has roaches we were eating and roaches started coming out on the table ?nasty s$%t we told the sever the one they had he acted suprized but he told the woman in the back that I think is the owner she told him to turn up the lights but before he came back to the table and we were moving away more had came out and he started brushing them off into his hand wtf place is nasty and needs pest control obviously no apology from the manager and had the nerve to charge us full price no kind of discount offered really the whole meal should have covered for the unwanted guest. STAY AWAY ?

First plate I ordered the Turkey wings with Mac and cheese and cabbage. The food lacks flavor . How is it soul food and bland ? The Turkey wing was very tender and prob the best item on my plate but it was just ok . The Mac needs more cheese and some black pepper the cabbage doesn’t look like southern cabbage it’s looks like Jamaican style with sliced carrots . Only thing it wasnt crunchy thank goodness the cabbage with tender . It did have a chicken broth flavor which helped alot with lack of seasoning . 2nd plate was fried pork chops with black eye peas and sweet potato soufflé, the pork chops had absolutely no flavor , black eye peas under cooked , tasted dirty like it wasnt soaked and washed properly and of course lacked seasoning . The sweet potato soufflé was out right nasty as if it was prepared for a nursing home . I won’t be back !!! Ughh

Food is absolutely Amazing!!! Spend one week in town for a baseball tournament and this is hands down the best place we ate. Service was great and everything from our Entree to the peach cobbler are 10/10….. definitely would recommend.FYI- late night found out our credit card was left behind and owner herself messaged me from Google chat and took the time out of her night to meet me after hours.

The only problem is deciding what to eat because everything is so good. We had the crab and catfish - and the ox tail and both were amazing. Don’t skip the dessert either that bread pudding is fire!Vegetarian options: All sides were cooked with no meat.

Perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal at the end of a busy week. We started with fried green tomatoes which were absolute bliss. The crab cakes were so delicious, it was almost impossible to take a bite without doing a little celebration dance. Literally the best crab cakes I've had... and I've had crab cakes in Chesapeake Bay made with fresh caught crabs straight from the water. Hubs also got a sangria and said it was amazing. Love this place!
