Everyone in our group enjoyed their food!The setup is outdoors and family friendly with an area for connect 4 and space to play with a ball. “I don’t think I have ever written a restaurant review before but I am compelled this time! The restaurant was nice, the staff was nice, the food and drinks were very good. HOWEVER… I get the bill (my daughter and I split the bill). I was a waitress through college, I always tip 20% or more. My bill had listed the 18% gratuity as $18.72, the 20% gratuity as $20.80 and the 22% gratuity as $22.88… my bill came to $58.37. I take offense to this because the restaurant hired the tips for each by $8, $9 and $10 above the correct tipping amount. This has left me with an eeek feeling about this restaurant and their business practices. So won’t be returning! There are many just as good or better Mexican restaurants out there!“

“Love this place. Been here maybe five times since coming to ATL in 2020. Would get here more, but I'm rarely downtown on a weekday, and this place isn't open on weekends. It's mainly to-go, couple tables outside with maybe 10 parking spots (recently paved). You used to order outside, but now you can order inside. They take cards, ApplePay, Wallet etc., but there's a $10 minimum for non-cash. Any combo will get you past that threshold. I've only ever gotten the lamb gyro with fries. Someday I'll try something else, but I like that gyro too much. Meaty, fresh vegetables and a sauce that's just right (not heavy or too runny). The Halal lamb is seared with almost a crust on the outside. Fresh and healthy and not greasy--I don't like those things, and I would not come here repeatedly if that was the case.“

Their dinner menu on their website is outdated, but it gives you an idea of what to expect. They said that they change their menu pretty often. I got the vegan kofta which was grilled Beyond meat with tzatziki sauce, a side salad, and green beans with almonds. My friend and I also split a salad. I got no feta on mine to make it vegan. Hapeville is friendly, walkable, and felt safe (a relief after a violent incident on MARTA ?). “Allow me to set the mood! It’s Hoopz last night in Atlanta before moving back to Seattle. As such, I wanted something close to his area, good, and that I had never tied before. Naturally I end up on Yelp performing a search and Boom! I stumbled across Argosy. Though I have been in this area numerous times, I have never noticed Argosy. However, tonight was the night… I was excited as the restaurant has its own private lot. Woo Hoo! Anyone who knows the area can’t attest that parking is not the best when it comes to available spaces. Once parked, we headed inside. Argosy is humongous. I’m talking super big covered patio area in the front, when you walk through that space to get to the main area, the inside is HUGE as well. The setup has your organic local bar feel and is musically vibrant and upbeat. Upon walking in we were seated within moments. The table setup makes good use of the space as you don’t feel crowded at all. We were a party of 2 and the tables next to us were a party of 10 and we both had ample space. As I looked over the menu, this is the traditional bar food menu with the Argosy twist. This makes for a limited selection to choose from, however, there is at least one traditional favorite of each food element in the menu. Our server arrived at the table within moments, welcomed us to the venue and took our drink orders. She was very pleasant and displayed a joyous smile. After a few moments of burger vs. fries, I decided to get the Wings and Fries and babeeeeeeeeeee. These wings were amazing. The wings come in a sauce I have never had before, and now that I have had it, I want to continue having it. It’s like a Buffalo style sauce not too spicy, with an Argosy taste twist to them. As far as the French fries… Hear me clearly. The art of a Homemade fry is not something everyone can execute well. However, Argosy has discovered the ART of fry making. The fries are crunchy on the outside, however, soft and fluffy on the inside. Furthermore, the fries are lightly salted which brings out the authentic taste of the potato. To make it even better, the fries aren’t too oily or overly greasy. Though I loved my wings, the French fries stole the night!! All in all, I will be back at Argosy soon as I MUST try the burger next.“

“The St. Louis ribs were delicious, expertly prepared with a perfect balance of smoke and glaze—not too dry or wet. The meat had the ideal texture, offering just the right amount of tug, bite, and chew. While I'm not particularly fond of the light vinegar or mustard-based BBQ sauces they offer, which are typical of Georgia and Carolina BBQ, the ribs themselves were satisfying.The tater tots were also cooked perfectly—hot and extra crispy. In terms of ribs alone, they didn't disappoint and are likely the best available in the local area. Although a bit pricey, the quality makes it worthwhile. Service mainly involved ordering at the counter and having food brought to the table, while other tasks like fountain drinks and condiments were self-service. The manager did check on us, which was a nice touch.“

We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. I am so glad we didn't skip the appetizers; the Fried Green Tomato special was out of this world, with pimento cheese and candied bacon. It was enough for 6 people to share. We didn't try the pizza, but the nearby diners clearly enjoyed every slice, so we'll be trying a couple next time. “Junior's Pizza is a regular on those "top pizza places in Atlanta" lists and definitely lives up to the hype. You can get all of the classics, the weird stuff, and even Sicilian style either as full pies or by the slice. The overall feel of the place is chill and is run by the most genuine people.
