Oh wow! Dayamn! Bang! Ka-posh-oww! We ate Fried Catfish, Mac N Chez, and the Collard Greens are all Bangin! The Catfish is flavorful and fried to perfection! They have a CheeseBurger that is amazing. Always clean and the staff are pleasant to where you want to go back. They forgot my extra side of Mac n Cheese & bread but that won't stop me from returning. Next time we have to try the Ribs. But you won't be disappointed here... Definitely worth trying if you're not wanting to cook dinner. Plates are $12 plus, but moderately priced considering it is Soul Food. My soul took a nap from a delightful meal.

This was our third time ordering from Mak and Jack’s because our first two experiences were so great. The food was delicious each time that we even recommended to family and friends. However, last night’s experience was unfortunately much different. To start we entered the restaurant to pick up our food after a placing an online order. We weren’t greeted by any of the employees and as we waited directly in front of the pick up area, unbeknownst to us, our food was ready and waiting but we did not know because the server never called out our name, asked how we could be helped, or anything. It took me noticing that the ticket had my name on it and asking for our food. That part we could overlook, but the quality of the food we had last night was not the food we had ordered to feed 40 people just last month. We ordered the brisket plate with mac n’ cheese and onion rings, 4 lemon pepper smoked wings, and a smash burger with fries. And the only thing we could say was good were the onion rings. They left out the sauce for the brisket, the mac n’ cheese and fries tasted like they were left over from the day before. We were disappointed to say the least because we enjoyed the food so much each other time.

I normally don’t like BBQ because it’s dry, but not at Mak & Jack’s. Their BBQ is tender and juicy. You can tell the cook knows what he’s doing. Prices are a little high, but the food is very good.

Let's talk about the food first... Top notch!!!!This had to be the best brisket I have ever tasted, and I have tasted plenty. On top of that, the ribs fell right off the bone... They were amazing as well. I didn't even use the sauce, even though I did dip my fried Okra in it. I highly recommend the fried Okra as a side.Now, let's talk about intangibles... Friendly, family oriented atmosphere. The Chef was awesome, and it was nice to meet some of his family as well. I felt like I was eating at home... Even better, I felt like I was eating at home with an award winning bbq chef in the kitchen.10 out of 10, highly recommend this restaurant. And make sure you ask the chef about where in South Carolina he is from.

Freshly prepared home style southern cooking. BBQ smelled delicious but we got the smash burger, bacon and blue smash burger, fries, and fried okra. All was seasoned well and delicious, served on fresh baked buns. Clean restaurant and food was fast considering it was not cooked until I ordered. We will return.

I tried this place for the first time several weeks ago. If ordering carry out, I recommend checking to make sure everything is there that is supposed to be before you leave (I was missing some chicken wings, but this might have just been a one-time occurrence). But everything was FANTASTIC. And the beef ribs? To DIE FOR. SO good. Try it! You won't be sorry.

You know the food delicious if you feel like napping afterwards.I had the catfish hoagie sandwich the catfish was perfectly cooked. It had some kick but it wasn’t over powering it was just perfect.

Stopped in today finally and had the catfish hoagie. Man, if the rest of the food is just as good as this sandwich, I'll keep coming back. Savage fries with brisket is the one! Came across this place while googling "BBQ near me" and it was awesome! We ordered a 2 meat plate(ribs&chicken) with mac&cheese and collard greens and we also order savage fries.-amazingly good and definitely worth a try! The menu is definitely your typical southern bbq menu with a soul food spin without all the salt and fatbacks, I noticed smoked turkey in the collard greens and not a lot of salt but certainly lots of flavor. The cafeteria style ordering is very convenient and the prices wont break the bank. Again, definitely worth a try.
