What a gem! I googled restaurants in downtown Macon and Cox's had the best reviews. We drove through a decidedly industrial area and were beginning to wonder where GPS was taking us. The Cafe exterior is rustic, but don't be fooled. Good people, good service and great food await. I had 2 eggs, scrambled to perfection and toast with coffee (good and hot). Jack had 2 eggs over easy, hotlinks, grits and biscuit. He prounced his meal delicious. If you're in the area, give it a try!

If you want some grandma's cooking you have got to go to this place. It is the most amazing place to get old cooking. They have these critters that are just awesome. It's fried cornbread and they look like pancakes.Kid-friendliness: We went to this restaurant at the last minute. It closes at 2:00. The people were super friendly. They still had food out ready for us. We came in. They waited on us and did their job so kindly.Parking: They have a free parking lot. It's huge!!Wheelchair accessibility: Definitely wheelchair accessible! Easy to get into. True country folks.

This little joint is hidden in a smallish building back in the industrial district. Service was friendly and fast ... food line and dining room staff were wonderful. Food is solid southern cafeteria style fare: meat and 2 or 3, we got fried chicken and cubed steak. Portions are pretty big. Vegetables were simple, but tasty enough. A little more salt needed, for my taste ... but they're serving a bunch of folks, and shaker is on the table. Absolutely a solid meal for a fair price. The chocolate 1000 layer cake was good ... lemon was decent as well. Get th tea, soft drinks are cans poured.

Honestly, they have the best breakfast in town. The bacon ? taste better than anything grandma ever fixed. Cheese grits, fluffy scrambled eggs, biscuits to die for, mild linked sausage and gravy you'd walk a mile for plus the best coffee in middle Georgia. Don't forget a generous tip because the ladies are on top of things. The guy scrambling my eggs isn't too bad either.
