Food is fantastic!!, However the woman at the counter is quite rude and a bit racist.. my first trip there she sat on her phone the entire time while I was giving my order and she would roll her eyes and talk to me like I’m stupid … I figured oh well maybe she’s having a bad day .. next time I come in I see her smiling and being pleasant to the people before me in line and once again treats me like I’m just complete garbage… The only conclusion I could see is perhaps she doesn’t like or respect white people .. even though I tried to be as respectful and nice as I could “yes ma’am” “no ma’am” “how are you today!” “Have a great day!” .. even though the food is great and close to where I live I will continue to go to island pot where I am treated with respect by hard working people with smiles on their facesI would like to add that is not a review on the food itself not the staff in the kitchen.. just of the woman they have at the counter.

I have been getting food here since I moved back to Macon two years ago. Whenever I want takeout this is usually my #1 option! The chefs cook their food with LOVE! You can taste it! It is SO GOOD! And everyone is so welcoming!I tend to get the vegetarian Rasta pasta, but I also like the jerk chicken pasta, vegetable roti and rice and peas with cabbage. (Get the rice with oxtail gravy ??). Also, I don’t eat oxtails, but theirs are delicious! My last order was the pasta and oxtails with a side of plantain. The oxtails were SUPERB! And they gave me my moneys worth!

Had the escovitch red snapper with collard greens and Mac.... BUSSIN! Red snapper was cooked perfectly. Collard greens were seasoned well. Mac and cheese had a good texture. I will be back when I'm in the area!

I've gone to this restaurant on several occasions and have always come away with good feelings about the service provided and that "can't wait to dive into the great food that awaits me" feeling.Vegetarian options: Even though I'm normally not a vegetarian menu conasuer, J&F does have cabbage, salad's and an extensive vegetarian meal's menu available for those that do cater to those type meals.

Food is amazing at this location! AUTHENTIC!! Service was ok from cashier. The cooks are super pleasant. Some dishes are cooked to order and sooooo worth the wait. The jerk salmon was so delicious as was the Rasta pasta which is very rich (when reheated it was a little oily - probably from the cheese but I still ate it and tasted good). Cabbage is cooked up right. Everything is really good. Like all Caribbean spots - rice and peas can hit or slightly miss sometimes but everything is so nice you won’t dwell on the slight miss. Put some of that gravy on it and enjoy!

The girl that rung me up was very nice I even left a tip, I ordered The Large Jerk Chicken Dinner that comes with 2 sides, I chose Mac&Cheese & Cabbage with a side of white rice and a slice of red velvet cake. To drink I grabbed a pineapple seasmoss. My girl got The Large Oxtail Plate with Mac&Cheese & White rice with the Jamaican pineapple pop they had everything was a 10/10!!! Wait time no more then 10 mins your in and out.

This is THE PLACE to come for good, quality and tasty Jamaican food! Most jamaican restaurants are not authentic and skim on the food. This place has beeen amazing since I first went in 2016ish lol I usually get the oxtail but I said let me try something different and got the goat roti. Chef's kiss!! I liked it better than the oxtail! The rasta pasta was great! The mac and cheese was great! It's not soul food mac and cheese, definitely a twist but still good! Plenty of options for drinka and desserts. If you're in Macon, this is a must stop! The pics were after we ate a little lol
