Been here several times now and the food never disappoints! All of the smoked meats are delicious and juicy. The sweet tea collard greens blew my mind! Unbelievably tasty. Fun joint with a great menu and bar and some good live music. Eat here!

Service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed the band that was playing right in front of us. Good beer choices too.

Not pictured below is the Brisket Patty Melt (sauced generously with the Carolina gold sauce and a healthy splash of Tobasco). I have a very high bar for brisket and have been disappointed many times. I tell you this to qualify my following statement: this is easily the best brisket/brisket sandwich I have ever had. The cheese and onions are delectable toppings and the sauce pairings do wonders, but it starts with the brisket itself. Shredded for this sandwich, it pairs a perfectly juicy, tender meat with a savory, crunchy charred outside. There is not a way to properly give this sandwich the respect it deserved, so try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Very enjoyable experience. Felt very homey in the best way possible. Good service and great food, especially the pulled pork tots. Would definitely come here again.

Loved the food and had a great time with my family. Music was nice too. If you get the chance I did enjoy the "Hot Mess" Mac and cheese. Staff was lovely and our waitress was so bubbly she kept me smiling. It was worth the unfortunate person I encountered before going in.Let me explain I had a little problem with a racist prior to entering the establishment however he gave off alot of LD energy. Calling me a FBB as I walked by him and his two friends who also sat outside. That miniature "man child" with a odly shaped receding hairline had the gal to speak this mess despite going silent after seeing I was not alone. What a weakling (photo provided). If you see this "thing" beware.

I would love to write a review but we have been here three times, twice we were told they were not open on a Saturday afternoon and once we were told the kitchen was out of food on a Friday around 6pm. I’m not quite sure how they make money turning customers away.

The “Hot Mess” was a Hot Mess in my mouth, it taste like warm up Mac And Cheese in the box. Brisket was not fresh taste and texture was not there, took forever for the appetizer to come out and when it came the main dish came as well. The Brunswick Strew was too sweet and it was lacking taste of freshness, I think all the food on the menu is warm up or store from the previous day. NEVER EVER WILL I EAT HERE AGIN.

Do not recommend going when the doors open. I jokingly asked the owners daughter if the ribs were cooked the day before and served...and they were. Very dry and not cooked fresh. The pulled pork was cold and the brussels sprouts were greasy. I was expecting this to be an awesome visit since it was list as must eat at barbecue spot in Ga. Maybe I went at a bad time and will visit at a different time.

Great place to eat, they have great BBQ and authentic southern sides!! Will definitely return, the owners were waiting on customers and helping serve food. Really great atmosphere too.

Up front disclosure, I ordered through Door Dash for delivery. Food arrived hot and on time.I ordered the pulled pork plate with the mac and cheese and baked beans. Pork was just OK. Could smell the smoke but couldn't really taste it. Beans were also just ok. Nothing to really separate them from canned. Mac and Cheese was terrible; greasy, overcooked, and an odd flavor. Just an oily cup of mush. Even the bread lacked attention. No butter, just a thick cut piece of toast.Chances are the food would be better in the restaurant, nearly every place is. I may give them another shot if I'm in the area, but I certainly won't go out of my way. I will also not order to-go or delivery again. An expensive lesson learned. If you want good BBQ in the area, choose one of the many other options.

We ordered 5 pounds of pulled pork, and family sides of baked potato salad and coleslaw for a family gathering. Everything was really good, with the baked potato salad being out of this world good. Highly recommend.

I organized a spirit night with Destiny at Hawg & Ale for our elementary school. Hawg & Ale had never hosted a spirit night before. Destiny was so easy to work with and I was anxious for Hickory Hills families to attend, many had not yet dined at this local restaurant. Many families ate on the patio, it was a beautiful sunny fall day. The family bundle was a top seller and the servers put a hold on dine-in orders while the kitchen caught up in all the call in orders. My family sat inside and we were treated to live music! I look forward to planning another spirit night with Hawg & Ale in the spring! We'll be back for sure.

I loved the food! I got the hickory-smoked turkey plate with mac & cheese and fried okra as my sides! All were delicious! The atmosphere is great! The walls are covered in locally created art and the staff is amazingly friendly! Highly recommended!

we visited this place in May 2021. Smoked brisket, pork ribs, sausage, and chicken were all very tasty. The Que master was very hospitable, and the service was good. When in Marietta, GA. make it a point to get you some of this good BBQ!
