My boyfriend and I love Aventine but tonight’s experience was great! Alex was our waiter and he was amazing, he was super attentive and made sure we were aware of everything the restaurant had to offer, he even reviewed the menu with me to ensure I wouldn’t order anything that included things I was allergic to. Aventine itself is a great place to be, they even include koozies with beer purchases and postcards with the check at the end of your meal. Always a favorite!Dietary restrictions: Tree nut allergy friendly!
Very disappointed in the food, my pasta and scallops wasn’t even cooked pasta was hardHusband had black cod , was very fishy and didn’t taste right,Didn’t mention it and wasn’t planning to UNTIL 3 am husband woke to a terrible sickness for the next 24 hours to which our DR told us was food poisoning.I call the restaurant and talk to the manager telling her the whole story she offered no compensation told the me that she would check into this and call me back and until this day I’ve not heard from her concerning either .We were there Jan 31st

So, me and my wife have visited Aventine 3 or 4 times now. Food and service is always good and we're happy Rome has a place like it. However, I really want to spotlight our server, Alex. This gentleman could teach a serving masterclass. His attitude, attention to detail and overall demeanor is top-notch! Any questions, requests etc were handle with such grace and enthusiasm. He is 1000% a major asset to customer experience. Thank you for a well needed great evening!

We booked the private room for 250 dollars for 10 people. We weren't sure if it was worth the 250, but it definitely let our family have their own room so we weren't bothered by the others in the main dining room.Anyways, I ordered three things: the Pomme Frites, the Alba Pizza, and Tiramisu. The fries were great! The pizza was also really good, especially with the chicken and cheese. The tiramisu was positively on another plane of existence. It was the best tiramisu I've ever had. And the presentation was awesome. My favorite dish, however, was actually not any of my dishes. It was the Brussel sprouts. My mom got them and I decised to steal some from her plate, and they were the best I've ever had. A bit salty, and sweet from the honey inside. I loooooved it, and you know its good because all of this is coming from me, a 15 yr old.
Waiter would not speak up even after telling him SEVERAL TIMES that I needed him too. The other 2 people could not hear him either. I've had good meals here b4 BUT the charcuterie board was awful. 2 slices of the 4 cheeses, just enough honey comb for each of us to dip a fork tine in ( yes seriously!). They had already mixed the bourbon so you could not sample it and the dinner wine came out after we had been eating 5 minutes. The pasta and scallops were great but the steak was not. A 45 dollar steak should melt in your mouth, not chewed just to get it swallowed. Bad Bad Bad. The bill for the 3 of us almost 300.00$. I would have rather go to Krystal. I will not be back. That's too much money not to walk out happy.

If I could give Alex 10 stars I would!! He took our initial wine preference and offered numerous alternatives, one of which we chose and we absolutely loved. Alex’s recommendations of the Brussels sprouts and French onion dip did not disappoint along with our pizza and sweet potato soufflé. Alex was so attentive and conversational without being overbearing. Alex’s service and the food gave us a 10/10 experience!

Now I wasn't paying, but this was some of the best food I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Not to mention the desserts and everything on the charcuterie board was
Definitely the best restaurant in Rome by a wide margin.
