This is undoubtedly the best Mexican I've ever had and I eat Mexican all over the country. The salsa was balanced perfectly. We guacamole had a fantastic brightness that just was chefs kiss. We had the loco rice and man the steak and chicken was cooked to perfection. They add pico to their loco rice. Made the meal stand out. We live in Calhoun but we will be back to this location often. For the record we also got some good off menu salsa from the restaurant running Uncle our name for him, but he was awesome and ran all over the restaurant making sure everybody was good. If you live within a 50 mile radius of this place you have to try it.

Great food. Great atmosphere. The place is surprisingly large inside. Tony was an amazing host having fun with the people dining in and with the staff. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Reasonable prices, amazing service, and some very good cheese dip. I will only eat here when I am in Rome from now on.

Service was superior here which is why I am giving 2 stars. The food on the other hand was beyond disappointing. My husband and I went here the day after Christmas which could have been the reason. We started off with salsa which wad pretty acidic, but thought it is the type of style they make. We also ordered cheese dip (who doesn't order cheese dip at a Mexican restaurant). The cheese dip tasted more like cream than cheese. Usually there is a slight spice of some sort to cheese dip and there was nothing. All that we could taste is so much salt in both the dips.I ordered fajitas and my husband ordered tacos. The fajitas were very underseasoned and something was off, but could not pin point. The beans had good flavor, but the consistency was more on the liquid side like water. The rice had nice texture, but tasted like plastic. I was so disappointed based on all the fantastic reviews.I thought the taste was just mine, but my husband thought the same. His tacos were the pastor tacos and he stated the meat tasted old and his Pico was gummy. The only thing we can think of that could cause this is being left out, uncovered. He also asked for tomatillo sauce which was so salty and acidic (possible too much vinegar). We are a take home leftovers family, but we left over half the food there. We did not complain, we paid and tipped. We are not a fan of the seasoning or style of the food.

Great food. Real authentic Mexican food. Drink prices are a bit much though. The parking is hard to find as it is down town.

El Z is my favorite spot in Rome! The fajitas are on point! My children love the quesadillas and rice! This is a place my entire family can go to and every is happy. The staff is eager to accommodate large parties. I would give a 6 star review but google only lets me leave 5!

The queso and salsa were very good, but the food was not. It had a poor, flavorless taste. The beans felt like I was eating baby food, and the steak was very chewy and tasted undercooked. I couldn’t even finish my meal. My partners meal had come out at the same time as mine, but I had to send mine back because it was not what I had asked for. I then waited 20 minutes after my partner had already finished their meal for the waiter to come back and check on us and notice that I had sent my food back and was waiting on it. I had really high hopes and expectations for this restaurant after seeing the other reviews on google, but I left feeling like I had wasted my money.Vegetarian options: Not many to choose from, unless you want strictly rice, beans, and cheese.Parking: Barley any spots nearby, at least a 10 minute walk from anywhere.
