Friendly staff and okay food, but this place is not a Mediterranean restaurant. Being in Rome, GA doesn’t count.

I was in Rome for work and this was the closest place to my hotel. Once I tried it I knew I had to come back to try other things in the Menu so I came here two other times. The food is delicious, the service is exceptional and the environment is great too.I’ll definitely come back in my following trips.

The atmosphere and service are 5 stars, but the food was a huge disappointment. The restaurant says medditeranean Italian, but according to the menu choices, it is an Italian restaurant in our opinion. We ordered the mushroom risotto, blue cheese ribeye, and a side of cheese risotto. The ribeye was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but it could have had more blue cheese, and the ribeeye wasn't amazing quality. The ribeye was way too grisly and chewy for our taste. The mushroom risotto was VERY bland. We needed salt/pepper, and that did not help the flavor much. The mushroom risotto needed a stronger truffle/mushroom flavor. The side of cheese risotto was undercooked and hard. The best part of our meal was the fresh bread brought to the table and a glass of eagle rare whiskey was $9-10.00 That's a great deal for us when a glass of it can cost us $40 or more in chicago. We wouldn't come back to eat, but maybe come hang out at the bar for a drink.

Excellent food and service! My wife and I enjoyed tapas and wine together with a phenomenal main dish selection.

We dined at La Scala on December 30 to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary. We ordered our appetizers and then found out that the calamari was not available. We then ordered two charcuterie boards. When it came time to order our dinners, one of our party ordered the veal saltimbocca, the server took the orders to the kitchen and found out that the veal dish was not available. One more change in the order. Dessert...orders went out for tiramisu...they ran out of that, too.....Needless to say that we were a bit discouraged. The server should have been made aware of what was NOT on the menu for the evening, not coming back three times to let us know that our choices were unavailable. She also did not know how to open the wine bottle. I did speak with the manager later in the week as they were closed for a few days. He said that he was sorry. That's it!! If we had not been there for dinners before that evening, I am not sure that we would ever go back. We might choose to spend our money elsewhere with better service. Final note....do not embarrass your servers. Give them the information ahead of the game.

Food was extremely overcooked. Sides were changed without notice (kale was replaced, without comment, with what appeared to be a microwaved serving of Green Giant chopped broccoli). One of our drinks was missing and we were told it was because they were waiting on another patron to finish theirs so they could take the glass, wash it, and reuse it for ours.

Our reservations were made through OpenTable which had excellent reviews and I was excited to bring my wife to the restaurant for our anniversary. We were expecting the "wow" after all the excellent reviews, however the experience was far from anything close to "wow". We ere met by a little sign that told us to head upstairs where we eventually found someone putting away wine and were seated. Our hostess was obviously having a very bad day and it made what should have been a "wow" dinner experience into one leaving us wondering what we could have done to make our server so upset. The food gets 2 stars only because the appetizer was good, not great, just good enough to allow the food to gain one star. The main course for my wife was "edible" which was more than I could say about mine which was in a word, horrible. I ended up not finishing any of the items on my plate. Here is where the hostess having a bad day and not connecting generated this review. If we felt that the hostess cared we may have said something about the food. However we felt that saying nothing and instead writing a review would be the best option.I am sure that the restaurant and service has been excellent for a lot of people. We simply did not receive that type of experience and this review reflects our visit.

Still can't say enough about this place! We haven't had anything on the menu we didn't like. My favorite is the mushroom and truffle risotto, and my husband gets the lollipop chops and shares mine. A friend had the Mahi last night and said it's the best he's ever had. Lisa is still the best at slinging drinks! Stop in and have her make you one of their cool cocktails!

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant when several items on the menu were not available. It was also the second time I was served an incredibly limp Caesar salad. Our server, Spencer, was excellent. Unfortunately I don't believe we will be returning any time soon.

Had a wonderful evening. Food was very tasty and authentic Italian. Combined with attentive service and upscale ambiance put it at the top of te list in Rome for any special occasion.

Service- the service was good. April made some great suggestions. She was prompt and courteous. Food-Very good. I made a happy plate. The smoke dome for my meal was cool. Added a good deal of flavor to the meat. I will say I am a saltaholic at times, and I think the meat was a little under seasoned. Just a bit. The entrées were good. The salad was wilted. Cons-Ok. The old fashion was good. However, if you have a great ambiance, cloth napkins, and table clothes, I should get a larger ice cube. And I should not have to ask if you do have them. If you don't, then filling the glass with ice to fill it is no bueno. So the question is, would I go back? Yes. Yes, I would.

Amazing food, incredible wine selection, and phenomenal service. Best restaurant in Rome!

Food was excellent. The “pear pasta pockets” had so much flavor! Service was very good. The place seemed a little run down in terms of decor and ambiance. The two-person table behind the half wall next to the servers is not a good idea.
