Great eclectic decor and fun vibe, but service is spotty at best, and when they are busy it really highlights a need for a better trained wait staff. The food is tasty and plentiful, and they have a great salsa bar to choose your favorite.

We absolutely love coming here and I'm not sure why it isn't busier. Lunch time is my favorite with my toddler. The food (especially the kids menu) is reasonably priced with a great selection. We always get seated right away with no wait. We love the chips and the variety of salsa dips. I got the Pollo soup this time and oh my goodness. That "cup" of soup was more of a bowl size. I feel like it was a great value. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Food is good. BUT I've been there 3 times and the service is NOT good. We've basically been ignored by the staff on all occasions. Today it was noon and no one greets us. We stood there a few minutes. The bartender looked over but was busy channel surfing. Finally a gentleman from another party peeks his head around to get a staff members attention. Once seated it takes awhile to get service. They are not busy and they have plenty of staff members, but they just don't seem concerned or attentive.Won't be back, we I can go up the street and get better service and similar food. I've never seen them busy, and I'm guessing because people don't go back.

I was seated for ten minutes and no one came over to take my order. There were plenty of servers but not one of them even looked at me. I ended up leaving and I will not be back.

Ordered a chicken quesadilla and a side of rice for lunch. $18 after tax.$5 for a side (cup) of rice is offensive.

Tacos, enchiladas, and kids meals were WONDERFUL! The ingredients were fresh and cooked/seasoned beautifully. I loved the carnitas, al pastor alacart lettuce wrap tacos the most. The queso with jalapeños was flavorful. The Mac and cheese was just kraft but still tasted good. The service was super fast, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance was really fun, lively music that wasn't too loud but had everyone dancing at the table. Very colorfully decorated and beautiful, lots to look at and very clean. We will be back for sure!

This review was deleted! You want the details behind how this place works...let me share it with you! I was hired as a sever at Papas & Beer. When I first started I got a lot of very judgmental looks from a few people that worked there, but for the most part everybody was nice and welcoming. I thought it was sort of weird that I had no training at all, but of course I pick up fast and have been a server for years now so it was ok with me. I eventually learned that I would just have to ask other servers to teach me little things such as side work, where stuff is, and how to put in orders. I also had to train somebody while I was still learning things. It wasn't too bad until I started to really pay attention. Here are just a couple things that have happened. I personally would be held back by the manager almost every day when I started working to do little extra things that nobody did or just because they needed to be done (which I didn't mind doing sometimes because stuff needs to get done, but when it's always you picked out of everyone it seems targeted). Another time when I wasn't having a very great day, but was just trying to keep myself together so I was sitting alone and pulling myself together before any customers started to come in the manager and the owner started coming up to me. First they were just asking if I was ok which was fine, I get they were just trying to be nice. After I said I was fine and just wanted to be alone for a minute, the Owner(Pablo) proceeded to pressure me and pulled me outside to try to get me to talk to him. It started to make me cry (which is why I was sitting alone pulling myself together so I could work). After I started crying, he continued to make me stand there trying to make me talk about what is wrong with me after telling him multiple times I just wanted to be alone to compose myself. I have also had servers tell me that when there was a problem with something, and the table wanted to talk to the manager (Angel) that did not happen. The manager would refuse to go up to the table and fix the issue. So just like with a lot of things at this restaurant the servers had to handle everything. Now this I saved for last. There were three white people (including myself, the person I trained, and one person who was there before me) who worked at this restaurant. I talked to the one that started working there a little before me and she said that at the beginning of working there nobody trained her, but everyone was helpful and nice. Then slowly (around the time I got hired) they started to make her do things she wasn't supposed to be doing, taking her off the schedule more, being rude and not handling situations professionally with her. Then when the person I had to train who was also white started working the same thing happened to me. As you can guess the same thing now just happened to him. Slowly one by one we all started being picked off. Oh and if you have a problem with the manager and text the owners like they ask you to, they don't do anything to help or sometimes just don't even respond. On top of that I was sick with strep one time and was never told to bring a note in, then weeks later everyone in my house had a bug and I was told to bring a note in for being sick when I came back even though I was not going to go waste a trip to an expensive doctor for them to tell me to drink fluids and rest and I would be better which is what happened. Then I got informed that I would not be on the schedule for the next week because of being sick and not bringing in a note, when am I supposed to bring in a note when i'm sick and then get taken off the schedule. I live 30 minutes away, I am not going to drive 30 minutes there and back while i'm sick to give them a note for a doctor i'm not going to pay for to tell me I have a stomach bug. On top of that they told me I didn't have someone cover me...there was nobody to cover me since everyone was already working, called out, on leave, or quit because of the conditions. After my week

We had been to Papas and Beer in Asheville several times and were very happy that they opened a restaurant in our area (Crabapple/Milton/Roswell). We have been several times and have always had excellent food and service. They have a wide variety of items on their menu, many that you don't see at the typical Mexican restaurant. The prices are also more reasonable than at many of the other Mexican restaurants in our area. Tonight we had excellent food and service once again....thank you, Arturo, for taking such good care of us.
