What a special experience! Lisa and I arrived in the mid afternoon on Friday and we're greeted by the very gracious and charming Masoud. He assured us that we could stay as long as we wanted to stay and it was not too late for lunch. The food was amazing and his quick wit was priceless! It was our first time. He opened the location 34 years ago! This place is an institution and historic! The food is amazing! The chicken fettuccine was superb! Lisa's salmon was also exceptional! Thank you for a great dining experience! BTW, he stocks Alex Grappa..... Possibly my favorite. Give it a try!Go for the food and stay for Masoud's great jokes! Thanks!!!

Message to the owner: DO BETTER. Just look at these reviews! Your restaurant is consistently empty because the food is beyond terrible and overpriced, your waiters are rude and chase people demanding higher tips, long waits for food in an empty restaurant, discrimination, bugs, just all the absolute worst things to experience at a restaurant! How has this not been corrected????

Awful. The Chicken Franchese was literally 4 chicken tenders on top of boxed spaghetti, drenched in a watery lemon butter sauce. Plus, no attempt at presentation whatsoever, no parsley, no parmesan, no fresh cracked pepper, just a sad little plate. Plus, it was 25! This place sucks, should've known by the completely empty dining room at prime hours. Its NOT old world Italian, as advertised. Don't waste your time or money.

We went here on a Friday night in January. We had reservations but it was pretty quiet. It's a lower key place, not super fancy but really great food. We started with calamari and a bottle of red wine. I had shrimp scampi and also tried the parmesan. Both were great! The garlic buns were tasty and so was the salad.

The owner tried to fix the problems we had and then another problem arose as we were leaving and it soured the visit for me. None of the issues we had were caused by us

Obviously a great place for group event as there are a number of groups that regularly meet up in their private and semi-private dining rooms two groups on the night I was there. The food is pretty good. My first order in years from Aldo's was the manicotti and the Chicken Marsala served with spaghetti. I really like the manicotti but there wasn't any actual taste of Marsala in the chicken Marsala. I'll be back anyway to try other dishes and update this review. In any case, I'm glad to have this very comfortable restaurant in the neighborhood with their selection of traditional Italian dishes and welcoming staff and owner.
