“Holy wow! Driving up into the Sylvan Valley Lodge at dusk and seeing it for the first time with all its lights lit was a breathtakingly beautiful sight! It is such a gorgeous property!Then we walked in and were greeted by an open and friendly staff and proceeded upstairs to find our HUGE and perfect room! The only thing that was better than our room was the gigantic common area that boasts floor to ceiling windows overlooking a mountain view.The property is second to none. And we had already decided to return based on how wonderful the amenities were… but then we entered the gift shop! It is filled with unique finds and hosted by the property manager, Brandi. She is such a warm and kind person who is genuinely interested in her guests and in ensuring that your stay has been perfect. I am incredibly impressed by her management of both the property and by her customer service!I cannot recommend Sylvan Valley highly enough!!! “O. M. G!!! This place was AMAZING. I just made so many core memories just at this place. I am SO happy with the staff's service and humor. I got SO MUCH ICE CREAM it was kinda hard to finish it all lol. Our server, I forgot her name, but she was so sweet and hilarious, she gave us STACKS of ice cream. I was laughing so hard I cried. “Everyone has already said everything! The food is excellent. My boyfriend is super picky about bbq and he ate all of his pulled pork…that has never happened. The owners are so nice and super sweet to our pups. They brought out some treats and a bowl of water for them. One of our dogs was trying his best to get in the kitchen. Don’t pass them by.“

Price/value/experience relationship was excellent. Counter, kitchen, dining area, bathrooms, and parking area well maintained. I had the Mouth of the South burger. Cooked to temp correctly and came with bacon, fried green tomato, pimiento cheese and hot fries. My wife had a deli sandwich that was delicious, lots of sliced Turkey, and potato salad. The potato salad was OK. We'll be back with friends even though it's a 20 plus mile drive down and back over the mountain. It was that good of a meal.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free bread for an option with an up charge. It was very good product.“

“Great spot during Oktoberfest! For a town celebrating beer, most places seemed almost disdainful of anyone wanting to drink an actual German beer. The Tap Room owner had a better selection than the rest of the town, seemed knowledgable of his product, and actually seemed like the wanted people drinking something delicious.“

“I’m always kinda iffy about barbecue unless I’ve had it before but this place did not disappoint. We always use sweet baby ray’s but this sauce was so good. I drenched my food in it. You get a big plate and a piece of garlic toast. I would definitely eat here again.“

“Alright, I'm giving this place a 5star review because I felt their they hit on all cylinders for the German theme heritage. Now with saying that, their rolls were freaking BRICKS. No one with dentures needs to eat them. It was not good but I think that's their style. So I'm not judging, just a personal preference. Coffee was high quality. Great coffee. Ordered a biscuit and that was great. Service was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Super nice. Quick service. I'll be back next time I'm in Helen. Just won't break my teeth with their rolls. “This place is where it's at! The food is absolutely amazing. We always end up orderimg the cheese curds twice, pro tip get them with the garlic Parm sauce. They also have some fantastic and authentic German sausages and pretzels with beer cheese. I'd you are one to accept a food challenge, they have a double burger challenge you can take on as well.Now we'll get into the bar and atmosphere. These guys have the cheapest bar in town and they are very well stocked. From regular well type drinks and beer to Johnny walker and cas amigos. They also have some really fantastic house drinks including my personal favorite the grateful dead, as well as some close contenders like the strawberry lemon drop and the pickle back.The servers are so welcomimg and warm you feel at home, but also k ow how to take care of business when they are super busy. Don't miss karaoke on Saturday nights. It's a blast. Definitely a place you don't want to skip when you come to Helen.
