Very slow. 1 1/2 hours to get the food in an almost empty place.

I had the two combination platter that consisted of oyster and shrimp. The shrimp was breaded, not real shrimp and the oyster was doughy not real seafood all fried all processed! What a waste and unhealthy!!! Restaurant does not promote heart health food!! Totally disappointing! Will never go back for anything!

Today's visit at Barnes was the first time I've eaten anything today. It did not disappoint. Everything was excellent. I think that I ate too much, to be honest. Very large portions. The server was really nice and kept my drink glasses full. I am looking forward to my next visit.

The food was OK, there was a lot of it. When we came in, it was primarily senior citizens, that didn’t bother us because we’re in that demographic. It did have the benefit of being close to where we were visiting. We will come back if we’re in this part of Savannah again.

This was supposed to be perfect day aa it was my wedding reception. I've never in my 69 years had such terrible service or food. There was no excuse for the food, it was horrible. There was one waitress assigned to a party of 40 or so people. That poor girl was hung out to dry. There were wait people standing around talking doing absolutely nothing. Our beautiful day could have been ruined if it weren't for our good attitude. None of our party intend to return there. I forgot to mention my daughter had a large piece of plastic or rubber in her oyster stew then it took 15 minutes or more before she got a replacement. Some people were still getting their food after most were finished eating.

I'm basing this rating off of this particular visit. On Sundays, they have Oxtails if you get them before 1pm. I had the Oxtails over rice, Man N Cheese, and Collard Greens. It also comes with some sweet cornbread and a drink. I really enjoyed that meat falling off the bone. It's mad juicy and melts in your mouth like butter. The Mac and cheese was good, but those collards were phenomenal. I wish they gave you a bigger piece of cornbread because it's a little sweet and very desirable.

My take out order was great and that sweet tea is always on point ,Barnes has the best tea better than Carey Hilliard.

When you order two pounds of ribs, you only get nine pieces, that's not two pounds to me. Do better Barnes. And I paid $43 .

Really gotta work on that health department score. Scary stuff! If I’d seen that before I ordered online I would’ve definitely ordered somewhere else. Wanted a refund but decided to just take the food and avoid the hassle.BUT the food was good. Pork chops crispy just the way I like ‘em. Out of mashed potatoes so they gave us a baked potato instead. Pointed that out when arrived to pick up order which I appreciated very much. Didn’t want baked potato and was able to pick a different side and lady left baked potato in plate too. The sides were all tasty. Really liked the split roll too.

My family and I ate at this establishment on Saturday evening at around 6:30 pm. We were not greeted when we walked in the door and the man who finally came to seat us after 8 minutes did not speak the first word to us, which was incredibly rude to begin with. We sat at the table without being acknowledged for 20 minutes at which point a nice young lady came over stating that she wasn't our server but wanted to go ahead and help out our server so we could get our drinks. Drinks came 10 minutes later and we were back to being ignored until the same woman who wasn't our server (and whom I really hope received the tip) took our order. The first time we spoke to our server was 30 minutes later when she brought our food and asked if we needed anything. It took her almost 10 minutes to get the condiments we needed and she was extremely rude about them not having tartar sauce- like a place that serves fried seafood having tartar sauce was the most ridiculous and bothersome thing she'd been asked. We had to find our own boxes and waited over 15 minutes after we were finished eating to ask the other woman for our check. We never were spoken to by our waitress again. Meanwhile, the entire time we were eating dinner, a man kept coming from the kitchen telling (practically fussing at) the servers not to seat anybody else even though there were maybe 6 tables and the restaurant didn't close until 8 pm. I understand there may be staffing issues and they were busy with a party in the back, but acknowledgement of your patrons and a decent attitude goes a long way.

For decades it was a reliable restaurant but anymore it is difficult to patronize. Limited hours started during Covid, which seemed to carryover to being also unpredictable hours. Hilliards, which are always considered to be a competitor never has these problems.
