Since moving to Savannah by God Georgia from Austin, TX, about a year ago, Russos has been my go-to seafood place and I have never been disappointed -- shrimp, jumbo lump crab, fish, sides, oysters -- in the bounty of the sea! God bless America, Savannah, and Russos. And you.

Traditional retail seafood. In business and just what you would expect from a retail establishment that's been around for 50 years with the same owner and management.

The selection of whole fish was fresh and plentiful. I saw the Sheepshead fish that I had to have!!! They had shucked tray of oysters with cocktail sauce already to go! Hush puppies and deviled crab at 6.99 a piece. Packaged fish and shrimp was a little pricey but the whole fish was a fantastic price!! They cleaned and gutted , scaled and filleted perfect!!! No extra charge. The wait was not long!! And they put everything on ice for you!! You can't beat it!! Local clams were delicious!! Great price on them!!

Always fresh and delicious seafood. The deviled crab are to die for. The salmon filets are my husband’s favorite.

The reason I'm giving this one star is because the service was horrible. I'm a handicapped woman it was a big deal for me to get out of my car and go inside. there were two women in the front. 6 people behind the counter ..only myself and 1 other customer. one who was folding napkins. the one who is not folding napkins ignored me, even after her customer left. the one who was folding napkins was two steps from the door but did not hold the door for me. I went in to buy fresh oysters. she pointed across the (fairly large for a handicapped 70 old with just my cane, not my wheelchair.) room at the oysters .there were no prices. no information whatsoever about how many I could buy ...i.e...could I buy a dozen? excetera every single question that I asked her she went and asked someone in back room. and came back I ended up buying a peck which was $30 she said , after 3rd time I asked prices...otherwise the oysters were a dollar each when I got back I counted the oysters that was 32 oyster in there and they were mostly small or it's just not a regulation size at all. also here I am handicapped walking with a cane hardly able to walk and she did not offer to carry them to the handicap spot right outside of the door to the car. I had to ask her for that help.... it was maybe 10 steps very easy for her, extremely hard for me to deal with my cane, the door, and 30 fresh oysters was very heavy.. there were no other customers in there at the time I won't go back there are too many other places to buy fresh seafood.

The restaurant was closed due to COVID so this review is for the Fish Market. I am a native of Savannah and I have eaten fresh fish and shrimp many times from Russo's. This time it was really bad. I purchased a container of shrimp salad and a container of potato salad to take back to our hotel for lunch. I placed it in my insulated cooler in the car. Less that 20 minutes later I prepared my lunch and something was very wrong with both the shrimp and potato salads. It tasted like vinegar or something very sour. Dang, $26 for NOTHING edible. I have eaten many pounds of shrimp salad and I have never had something that tasted this bad.

The Restaurant needs more parking spaces. Parking is tight. It's a little difficult getting back on the main street.

When I pre-ordered on Dec 21st I was told I needed to pre-pay as they weren't letting anyone in the store because they had a covid exposure. They said I would drive through and my order would be brought to my car. Not so. I arrived on the 24th to pick up my order. multiple people waiting outside, and multiple people waiting in the store to order. Two employees without masks. One was the young man who brought my or.der out to me (I had to get out of my car to wait). When I asked why he was not wearing a mask, he said he was told he didn't need to wear one.

After my last trip a year ago I decided to try fresh market first. It was total disappointment. They had only previously frozen fish. No local fish. Went back to Russo’s. Great selection and surprisingly few people on December 23. I got flounder, whiting and trout, filleted. All were excellent. You get what you pay for. They may be expensive, but they have super fresh local fish.

A nice, fresh variety of seafood from a Savannah institution.
