Beautiful historic pharmacy with detailed woodwork and stained glass inside. Our server was attentive and offered a brief history of the building, which we enjoyed. My mother and daughters and I all ordered the afternoon tea. Each person chose what type of tea they wanted and was provided with an entire pot of tea. The tea sandwiches, scones, and treats were all tasty and the presentation was gorgeous. Although we didn't eat anything from the regular lunch menu since we wanted the afternoon tea experience, it looked like they had some really delicious options. I'll definitely try to go back again!

Located in a former pharmacy in the Scottish Rite building it exudes charm. Run by SCAD they only take reservations for parties of 10 or more I believe. Got there 10 minutes before opening and was able to get a table but parties not that far behind us didn't make the first seating. Had the high tea (tea sandwich es, scones with clotted cream, petit fours etc). Great value (about a third the price of the Peninsula Hotel in Chicago for example, but it's not the Peninsula) since it is a tea room after all. Very nice experience.

Their afternoon tea is an amazing experience! The food was delicious and between the four of us we tried half of their tea menu as well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, wood shelving and books everywhere made it feel like home <3Our server was a student from SCAD, she was very knowledgeable about the history of the building. She was also sweet and patient with us, we took our time enjoying chatting over our snacks and teas. 10/10 all around, will definitely be going back soon!

Fabulous ! The peach and ginger soda and blueberry lemonade were delicious. The salmon had lots of different flavours and textures all in symphony. Service

Recently visited with friends during my birthday trip and we enjoyed it all. The decor was perfect and we enjoyed the tea tower. It’s a great place for weekend brunch or afternoon tea at an affordable price. I would visit again!

Quaint little lunch spot in the historic district of Savannah. Nice ambiance, good staff, good food and fair prices

The woman at the hostess stand completely put a bad taste in our mouth and made us decide to not dine in here. She was extremely rude, passive aggressive, and petty after being confronted about removing us from the wait list after we had waited an hour and were back inside the door in the time frame she gave us. She got loud and seemed like she wanted to start an argument before we just walked out. If this is how you treat people at the door, I can’t imagine how the service dining inside the actual restaurant would’ve been. From our first encounter, she seemed as if she didn’t want to be bothered with us but her attitude with *other* groups was obviously very more polite and pleasant. Very disappointed as this looked like a nice place for my friend’s birthday.

The woman at the hostess stand wasn’t very polite or personable when we first came in, but we asked for a table for five and she told us it would be an hour wait. We gave her my number and looked around the neighborhood a bit. Got the text that our table was ready, hustled back, and i got a text that we were taken off the waitlist right as we walked in. Mind you, a large party was in front of us so we had to wait for them to get done speaking to the hostess from before, and then another large party walked in after us and cut in front of us to snag their table which accounted for us being another minute late. The hostess at the counter from before (who wouldn’t tell us her name) told us we’d have to wait another hour, and I know she saw us waiting behind those two large parties. My friends and I were celebrating my birthday and we’d planned on spending a decent amount of money, but she acted like she did not want us there. If management sees this I hope they know she’s driving away business with her piss poor attitude. Since she refused to tell us her name, she’s the older white woman with a long ponytail that was working the hostess stand this morning.

we were walking in, received the text about being removed from the waitlist as we were in line, and the woman at the desk (who wouldn't give us her name), completely ignored us and said that since we were a minute late, we would need to wait another hour on the waitlist. I'm not exaggerating. We were also treated differently than other groups of people in line, even though we were very polite to her.

Stopped by for some afternoon tea. Ordered the chai tea, tea sweets, and scones and everything was excellent. The ambiance is very nice with books and some vintage pharmacy cabinets. Definitely go if in Savannah. It is run by SCAD.

It was so great! Such a fun experience! It's run by SCAD so all the servers are all students. When you are first seated they offer to give you a history of the building and I really appreciated it because it became a last minute place for us so I didn't get a chance to look it up. We actually ended up there due to the rain and we needed an indoor activity otherwise we would not have gone! So glad we did! One of our favorite things we did on the trip. We had dinner reservations so we got the tea tower as a nice light afternoon snack instead of a full lunch and it was perfect. If this is not on your list put it on there. We will definitely go again.

What an absolutely beautiful place. So warm and inviting. The service was perfect and our drinks, lunch and dessert were the best we’ve had so far in Savannah. We stopped in for a late lunch and pleasantly surprised to see they do afternoon tea as well…which we will be back for very soon.

Beware Tea Lovers when visiting the Gryphon Tea Room in Savannah, GA which is ran by SCAD. This establishment does not follow their own protocols for Saturday dining. I was told by the "manager" to call in the morning and let the restaurant know what time I will be arriving and they will add me to the "wait list". I agreed since they did not take reservations for less than 10 people and they didn't have any openings for this or next weekend. I followed their protocol to the letter. I called before 12 pm Saturday morning to let them know I would arrive at 2 pm. They said they will add me to the list. At 1:21, I got a text saying my table is ready. At 1:22, I responded, "we are on the way, we'll be there in 20 minutes." This is still 20 minutes before I scheduled my arrival. Upon my arrival, the manager informs me my name has been taken off the list. I told her I responded as I was told to do. At first, she said she did not get the text. I pulled out my phone and told her the time it was sent, she looked back at her screen and said, "I see it," but it was not within the time limit. Again, I said when I called this morning I told them I would be there at 2 pm. I was still calm, cool, and collected. She the said, "I will put you to the top of the list," and then said, "I'll text you when your table is ready." I'm thinking we're good and it's still not 2 pm so it will be fine BUT, Oh no it wasn't! Tables were being cleared as my party was taking pictures and waiting patiently. At 2:12, I noticed several parties being seated. I'm still okay. By 2:20, at least 6 other parties were seated and I decided to speak to the manager again to make sure I didn't miss the text. She tells me she will be seating us shortly at the table under the chandelier. She adds, those people are over their time. Now, there are several other open tables but she still doesn't seat us. Now, more parties are being seated and still no table for us. Now, it's almost 1 hour later and I am pretty upset. But now I'm looking around and see what's actually going on, all the white parties have been seated and the non-white party (me/us) are still waiting. Again, I approach the manager and explain my point of view, I do this professionally, quietly, and with as much tact as possible. For some strange and bewildering reason a waitress ecided to add her two cents in as I am calmly speaking to the manager. Well, that broke the camel's back. I looked right at that little waitress told her "I AM NOT SPEAKING TO YOU!" I am not sure what was in that young person's mind to add her two cents but at that moment that manager grabbed menus and seated my party. I believe she knew how it looked, and I expressed clearly how disappointed I was that it really looks like she was showing favoritism towards all of the white customers over me and my guests. So again, non-white patrons, beware of actions of the staff at the Gryphon in Savannah, Georgia. I am saddened by this experience and shocked that this could happen to me in the city I love so much. One good thing the waitress who help us was outstanding.
