I grew up in Statesboro and still have very fond memories of eating at this establishment or taking food to go. The Brunswick stu us a MUST! This place is well known and loved in Statesboro. If you ever visit, you should definitely give it a try. I've never had a meal here I didn't like.

It’s been awhile since i’ve been to Vandys but wow what a disappointment to come back to this kind of meal. I got a large Vandy Bbq plate and it’s maybe less than a small. Just disappointed.

went in to place an order of bbq plates and tea. Watched the staff throwing French fries at each other, playing around, also observed staff pick up food off the counter and place back on customers plate. waited 20 minutes for food, when food was ready then told there is no tea, had to wait again for tea to be made, by the way instant tea, worse tea ever. Have eaten at Vandy's for many years but guarantee I wont be back. After seeing what I saw yesterday I can't imagine what I didnt see. in these uncertain times I have to wonder about proper precautions being taken. Young staff that need some obvious training on professionalism and some supervision!

We got two BBQ plates to go with Brunswick stew and potato salad. We’ve never been to Vandys before. The BBQ meat has a metallic flavor. Kinda weird. The sauce was okay but seemed to have a lot of lemon in it. The Brunswick stew was not good. It had a beef flavor to it. I think it had ground beef in it. The texture was weird. Almost puréed. We were very disappointed.

I realize that you have a limited menu during this time, but I would highly recommend you add your chicken finger baskets to the menu. all kids don't like hamburgers or bar b que. your restaurant has gone down the toilet the last few years. owner might need to be in restaurant alot more to see what is going on.
I was extremely dissatisfied with my food. I used to enjoy Vandy's bbq and brunswick stew; however, their quality of food has diminished over the years. I ordered the flounder and pork chops today, and was in disbelief they served this.

Went on my one hour lunch break to get the special of the day, fried shrimp. After sitting at my table for 5 minutes I was finally asked what I’d like. I ordered. This was at 12:17. At about 12:45, after watching my waiter walk around and talk to everyone and go outside to talk to people (and returning back to work without washing his hands) I had to go to the cashier and ask that my food please be changed to a to go order because I couldn’t wait any longer, I had to go back to work. He turns around and grabs my plate of food that has been sitting in the window for God knows how long and they dump it in a to go box. I paid and left. When I got back to work and was able to try to scarf down my shrimp, they were cold, fried hard as a rock and tasteless. From the service to the food, it all sucked. Won’t be back, ever.

We went in yesterday for lunch (in the mall) and decided to sit at the bar b/c there is usually faster service there and we only have an hour for lunch. I ordered a bbq sandwich and my sister ordered the "special of the day" a hamburger. They were training a new guy in the kitchen, which was pretty obvious. The new guy plated my sandwich and put it up in the window. The waiter comes up to get the food only to realize that the hamburger wasn't ready yet. So he asks them about

I don't know who the 5 people who have this place 5 stars are but I can only assume they work there. This place is a dump and the food isn't worthy of the dumpster its thrown in. The menu says they have been in business since 1929. I think that's when our food was made. The BBQ is horrible and if you need to douse your BBQ in sauce ITS NO GOOD! The Brunswick stew is slop the mac and cheese is frozen probably Stoufers. The mashed potatoes definitely were out of a box. I can't think of a worse dining experience I have ever had. Don't even let me get started on the guy wearing sweatpants calling himself a server. I understand they are probably college students but good God. And somebody clean the smudges and the fingerprints off Erk Ruslles pictures. He brought this town some championships. Yoall will certainly never do that with your food for sure. In closing this place should be closed. If you want way better BBQ go down to Parkers and grab you a sandwich out of the grab and go thing they have. It will be way better and not cost you $30 for a few bites of food.
