I enjoyed it beforeAfter eating it today, I think I understand why the customer gave it to me.1. First of all, sweet and sour pork has a strong pork smell... The reason why sweet and sour pork, which is made up of pork, has a spicy smell is because the meat itself is the problem. Even though it's fried, it's not tasty.2. And kkakdugi, it felt like a slippery transparent liquid that I hadn’t noticed before was coating the radish radish soup..(This usually happens when you don't throw away the radish radish radish that was left out in the hall and re-cook it... I didn't eat it because I felt uncomfortable;;)3. The pickled radish was not tasty, so it was my first time eating it at a Chinese restaurant without getting a refill.= The Jjajang was so sour (I ate it during the day, probably because of the oil, and I couldn't digest it until dinner, so I skipped dinner), but I was very disappointed in the other three parts, so I'm leaving a review for the development of Samwon Gak.

A friend, familiar with this restaurant, recommended it for our gathering. Opting for Jjajangmyun (짜장면), a beloved dish among Koreans, though not originally Korean, I also tried the stir-fried seafood and vegetables (팔보채) paired with Chinese Sake. However, I found the Jjajangmyun a bit too sweet for my taste, and the dish lacked variety beyond the noodles. The atmosphere and service provided by the waitstaff were average.

Ladies who work there were super nice and food was uniq and good. Jjajangmyun had some smoky flavor, Jjamppong was 칼칼해, Tangsuyook was hot and fresh. Found new fav korean chinese restaurant to goto.

This place is pretty close to my parents, and a recommendation from a friend when I was craving Korean-Chinese sweet-and-sour pork. We came here right when they opened on a Sunday, and it wasn't too busy, which was actually surprising. The last time that I came here with my friend last year, it was so crowded that we had to wait for a table. My parents and I tend to be small eaters, so we decided to get a set. And then we threw in a fried dumpling appetizer just in case we weren't full enough. The stuff that we got at the spicy seafood noodle (Jjampong) paired with the sweet-and-sour beef. Oh, I forgot that we also got a jajjangmyun. All in all, it was a lot of food!Sweet and sour beef :PROS:- Great quantity, perfect for sharing- Sauce came out completely separate from the fried meat, and this was perfect because it wouldn't get soggy.CONS: - this version of sweet and sour beef, has a slightly sweeter version of sauce. The Chinese version tends to have a little bit more team to it. It's not so much a koign, but more of a personal preference. Personally, this is one of my favorite dishes, and I tend to create this at least twice a year.Spicy seafood noodle soup (jjampong):PROS:- huge portions, it definitely fill this up as this was the first dish that came out. And this was splitting it three ways. We actually ended up taking half of it home.- Fantastic flavor, good amount of seafood to noodles ratio as well.- They were able to alter or lessen the spice. (My mom can't handle spicy things.)CONS:- Again this is an a con, but this doesn't quite reheat as well as taco. Takeout might be a little different, you can probably ask them to separate the noodles from the broth. But by the time I had it for dinner, six hours later, most of the noodles had soaked up the broth. It was still tasty. It's just that you won't have any soup.Black bean noodles (jajjangmyun)PROS:- Also great quantity to share, a little bit less than the spicy seafood noodles. So I would say for two people it's a definitely a shareable dish if this is the only noodle dish that you get.- Not oily surprisingly. Most of the times when I've had this, they do put pork in there, and so the pork fat can sometimes leave the sauce a little bit on the greasy and oilier end.CONS:- none Fried dumplings (mandoo)PROS:- Decent shareable amount, I think there were six pieces but cut in half (hmmm). It's good enough to kind of whet down the appetite a little bit.- Came out crispy and hot, nothing to complain, but nothing to write home about eitherCONS:- Not the biggest fan of the sauce.I definitely come here again. It's only a 15 minute drive from my parents house. The other places where I can get this would require a 30 to 35 minute drive. Service was amazing, the aunties that attend the restaurant are super attentive, and there's also a button anyway that you can use if you needed to call someone.
Jjajangmyun is the same, but their jjangbbong changed. Not as good as it used to be. Mandoo was ok, not sure if it’s worth $8. Rather get another jjajangmyun.

Is it the best jjajang and jjampong? No, but its one of the better ones in this area. I tried zoongookzip and jjampong zijon, and they were alright too. They are more modern style and samwongak is the old school style. My husband likes samwongak saying this is more equivalent to eating at a local jjajang place in korea vs eating out at a more modern ones in the main cities. Even the service was old school ajjummas serving. We have peanut and treenut allergies but we were ok after eating here.

It didn't have much of flavor. Sweet and sout pork(탕수육) was burnt and my husband thought it tasted like chicken nuggets. Jjamppong tasted like ramen soup.
