This is something I don't do too often, but yesterday's experience was great.The food was outstanding. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Basket with a side of fried dill pickles. The price was reasonable; I received ten large shrimps, with light batter and not too greasy, just right! Same for the side of fried dill pickles. My dining partner has fried artichoke po boy and loved hers. She said that the battered fried artichoke hearts were so good, she wished that she could just order a whole backet of those.While I waited for the food, about 15 minutes because it was so busy at lunch time, I had time to watch the kitchen prepare meals. This small bistro (because it is a small local restaurant) is very well run. There were just three people turning out orders and food for about a continuous group of 30 people. This team of three women were impressive the way they worked together. Everything synchronized. They were all busy but friendly and courteous. The locals were friendly and courteous also. The atmosphere is one where it is simple but warm and cozy. Makes me want to go back. Parking is a little tricky but doable. I highly recommend the Traveling Hobo for fried southern treats at reasonable prices. Well done ladies!“

The special: branzino with scallops was delicious. It is HARD to believe this culinary destination is in such a small town.“

“Cali N Tito’s is an Athens favorite, and one of my favorites as well! Their food is so different and their french fries or to die for. Crispy and delicious, every bite. Everyone loves their Cuban sandwiches and they had three different varieties to choose from. Their tacos have cabbage. Their hamburgers are so delicious and moist. They are really good at improvising your menu items if you ask for that.“

“First time eating here. Went at 8:20am on a Saturday and we were the first customers. Within 30 minutes the place got full. Wife had the Fire Bird and I had the Gravy Train. Both were delicious. Paired it with an Irish Coffee which was also very good. Our son loved the biscuit with blueberry jam. Service was excellent and very friendly. Will definitely be going back.“

They were a little abrupt when we got there five minutes before they opened at 4:00 pm and asked them if they could work on our table, we almost left.I’m so glad we didn’t because they turned out to be good people with great service and great food. “LEXI!!! That girl made our whole visit! First time here and can't wait to come back to Athens already, just to eat here again. We tried the Ahi Tuna appetizer with chips, which was delicious. I wanted the Lamb burger, but unfortunately they were out. However, The kitchen did make me a regular beef burger with the lamb burger setup and YUUMMMM!!! My family had burgers too and we all had the delicious fries. All while receiving the BEST service from Lexi! “Amazing food, friendly service, and great seating inside and outside. Jerk pork and jerk chicken were to die for. Ordered the Mac and cheese and it was alright, not as cheesy as it looked, but it was still good. The plantains were amazing and spicy squash was decent. Next time I'm gonna try the greens and rice and peas.... I should've ordered a small, since the large portion is too large to eat in once sitting. Mmmmmmmmm“

“I love La Parilla. The best salsa in Athens in my opinion and the food comes out quick ands hot. They are good at making adjustments to the menu items to suit your needs. Last time I went I had their fish burrito and it was absolutely delicious with the rice, beans, and fish inside the burrito. A great flavor. I usually get the enchiladas and they are delicious. My Sister says they have the best tamales anywhere around. A good place to eat and a great atmosphere. I’ll be back.“

“We LOVE Marker 7! We have been coming here for years. Even when we have been at the beach, we always says, “It was good, but it wasn’t Marker 7 good”. From the daily specials, to the tried and true menu items, you can’t go wrong. Paul makes a great raspberry margarita, is personable and pays attention to detail. Matt is the same! We feel at home when we walk in the door (which is very often). Run, don’t walk to Marker 7!“

“We arrived around 5:00 on a Saturday. They were semi busy. We quickly got a seat outside. The service was excellent from Val. The drinks took a bit to get to the table, but I think that was due to a full bar. Not a problem. We had the awesome load fries, and our friends had the fish and chip. Both were excellent. The beer selection was great, and we all had a little bit of most of their offerings. Tables, bathroom, and the bar area were very clean. I definitely recommend Akademia for both beer and food.“

For the most part, employees are friendly and do well at handling the nonstop business. Unfortunately, there are at least two (full-time/regular) employees that are quite rude and unpleasant. It is clear that the customer’s presence alone is an inconvenience. Other than that, all around great spot for any Athens residents and visitors.“

“My wife and I chanced upon Jinya on a Sunday afternoon. What a FIND! If ever we are back in the area we will certainly visit again. The atmosphere was immediately pleasant, very tasteful and quite Japanesey. We were seated immediately and the welcome made us feel at home. Service started quickly and we were soon enjoying our drinks and the impressive menu. Our server ('Nara, short for Nayantara) was excellent and very helpful with our selections.The food was ... incredible. I grew up in northern Japan and have seriously missed the fine Japanese cuisine. We sampled some small items like gyoza and crisply chicken wings and an excellent katsu bun. The main event, ramen bowls, was wonderful, exactly like and as delicious as any really good restaurant in Japan. Can't say enough. And they have a nice bar ... their only Japanese beer is Sapporo but Sapporo is a great beer. We fully enjoyed our visit, the atmosphere, the service, and the excellent food items. “What a great place! The food is wonderful and service is quick. I’ve never had a mistake at Woks Up EVER. The employees are so nice! There are plenty of places to sit; booths and tables. It is a very clean environment, bathrooms included. The tables are cleaned almost immediately after customers leave, waiting for the next group to come in. If I could give it 10 stars, I would! There appears to be a really cute cat, taking care of things after hours I'm sure!There was a great selection of styles available when we visited and each were very well done: märzen, Irish red, hazy IPA, standard IPA and schwarzbier. “La Pa off Jefferson Road is my favorite Mexican place. I’ve been a customer since they started in the other space (more than 20 years ago). Their cheese dip is unmatched. The food is consistent, served quickly, and the staff are always friendly. Our family goes there a lot - we know many of the staff by name and it’s a place that feels like more like hanging out with family & friends.“

“We are new to the area and went for the first time for their Wake N Bake off. We had a great time. The beer was awesome, the food the different restaurants came up with was amazing. And the people were so nice and helpful. I am currently in a wheelchair due to a broken ankle and one of the vendors helped me into and out of the ladies room (I couldn't get over the threshold). We love having a variety of things to try that comes with a tapas menu. The pimento cheese crostini are my favorite, with the okra and sliders a close second - simply delicious. The restaurant has a bar downstairs with a more casual atmosphere. My husband and I would love to eat here more often if parking weren't such a challenge, but that's part of being in such a charming and popular area of town!“

Frankly, I had to scholl through 3-4 pages and Ossetian Athena finally came up … we’ll worth the wait! My wife & I had a great over appetizer, Mushroom Bruschetta, Caesar Salads & Salmone Al Pistacchio including an Italian Blend … simply outstanding! On top of all this, Drew, the owner, was a GREAT HOST! I highly recommend this restaurant!“
