We discovered this little spot quite a few years ago. We don't live in the area but when we are in that part of town we tend to go there with family. Good food and not too crowded. Dog and kids friendly patio is always available.

1st time coming based on reviews that I've seen. We had a party of 8 for dinner and had 7 different entrees and 2 appetizers. All exceeded our expectations and our server was very attentive. We came on Wednesday night and it was fairly busy for a mid-week dinner. We will definitely be back !!!

I find that the bar drinks are made very well I especially enjoy talking to one of the bartenders. As for their food it's mediocre the appetizers are overpriced I would suggest they have some happy hour appetizers it may attract more people. I like the fact that they have an outdoor seating area but it often smells like cigarettes.

My mother-in-law and her partner took my husband to Donovans on a recent visit to the Woodstock area. They always request a table where their favorite waitstaff person, Kelsey is assigned. She is terrific- knowledgeable, kind, and good at her job! The food was terrific! Come with a big appetite, because the homemade chips and beer cheese dip are worth every single calorie. This place has Smithwick's beer on tap and the Cherry Limeade cocktail I had was delicious.

Third time here. Food really good each time. Atmosphere isn't great, but we were here today at a very unpopular time (around 3 pm-4pm) for a late lunch/early dinner. We are looking forward to being able to be outside on the patio again when the weather permits and to bring one of our dogs with us!

Fantastic people and food. The corned beef and cabbage is the best I've ever had, and my wife loves their chicken and waffles. Their menu and bar selection has great variety, and they're open late. Definitely a family favorite spot.

Went to Donavan's one afternoon. Very friendly staff. It was a bit loud so we sat in the back away from the TVs. It was a slow afternoon so without a lot of people the sound doesn't get absorbed. Had the chicken and waffles that included fried white meat chicken sprinkled with powdered sugar and 2 waffles and a side of Mac and Cheese. Would have preferred not having powdered sugar on the chicken and instead only on the waffle. The waffle wasn't soft and it was extremely sweet. It tasted more like somethng that comes out of a package versus something that could be made on a waffle machine in house.

All six of this one out for dinner. I had not been to Donovan's so this was our first visit. So the only small thing that bothered was it was such a cold night and windy which is nothing that the restaurant owner can do anything about. But every time the door opened the cold wind blew in and was quite chilling. They did have the heat on and tried everything they could but it was still chillyThat being said, we had fantastic service. Our server even moved as farther away from the door when she saw it. It was chilly for us. The food came out was hot, fresh. Very tasty. Everything was well done. The chef/ owner came out to our table to make sure that everything was fine and we wound up speaking for 15 minutes. It was quite interesting and he was quite refreshing. Definitely will be coming back. This was an excellent choice for dinner and we surely enjoyed it. It's kind of out of the way but try to find it and come enjoy some good Irish pub food.

Swung by on Wednesdays back to back weeks and the owner recognized us from our first visit, poured us a drink on the house, thanked us for coming back in and had a great conversation over a tasty beverage. Awesome place and ownership/staff!

Pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. Nothing we had seemed to be some earth shattering dish. It was ok. Service was good. Didn’t like the peach cobbler at all. One of my kids was sick by the time we were leaving, idk if it was the food or what.

Beer was flat, took about 40 minutes to get our food after ordering. Booths were very cramped. Corned beef was decent.
