4/1/24 HŌKŪ ʻOLE ‼‼‼ ʻAʻOLE LĀ‼ NEGATIVE‼ NO GO HERE...KAMAʻAINA AND NĀ MALAHINI A PAU‼ HE HAWAIʻI AU. Where in Hawaiʻi nei does a local restaraunt unable to seat a party of 8 and 1 infant on one table? THIS ONE‼ BORN AND RAISED HERE‼ Asked if we could put two unoccupied tables together and Sista said they going get in trouble. Ok got it. We were seated at two separate tables in the back, one table with high chair at the end of one table. Following the table setting, Sista say she get bad news. She said the baby in the high chair cannot sit on the outside because she blocking the fire lane. WTF... then why did she allow us to be seated there in the first place? So we tried to move the baby on the inside and have an adult sit on the outside. She then says cannot. Cannot block the fire lane. Sista gotta learn how to communicate effectively like say, "I apologize the fire lane may not be blocked" PERIOD before allowing us to sit on those two tables cuz she obviously knew the fire lane may not be blocked . Then Sista tried to put 6 of us on the round table and 3 on a separate table as originally intended. Unbelievable‼ After all this, I said we not eating hea, and we bounced. If you are here for Merrie Monarch and want to enjoy your ʻOhana's company no come to dis restaraunt. Go Kenʻs, Ponds, Kenichiʻs, Miyoʻs, Hawaiian Style Cafe, Kuhio Grille. ANYWHERE BUT HEA! All these other places will accomodate your ʻOhana. Tourists beware. There is no aloha here at Coconut Grille at Dinner time about 630 pm. Good help hard to come by these days. So SHAME kēia wahine. They no care if they just lost out over $500.00 plus tip we spent at Ponds. Too bad, so sad. ʻAʻOHE MAʻA HAWAIʻI! ʻAʻohe nō aloha! Aloha ʻino! Mai hele mai maʻaneʻi! Pilau kēia wahi!

My husband and I got the catch of the day and Kaula pork plate with poi & pudding for dinner on a Tuesday, as the place was down the road from us. Fish did not have a good flavor and the stuffed potato was meh...Pork was also meh and oily...Lava Flow Pina Colada had chunky bits of ice that kept getting stuck in the straw and overall non-impressive flavor compared to others I´ve had in town. The service was also slow, though our waitress was nice. However, we noticed later, after leaving, that we were overcharged (30 vs 28) for the fish from what was quoted by the waitress for market price (we even had her go ask the price before we ordered, as she wasn´t aware), so kinda ruined it further. I didn´t eat much of the fish (my husband ate it because of cost) and ended up getting a pizza at our hotel when we got back. Do not recommend, was overall a meh experience for same price as other great places in town. Go to Cronies downtown, or even Pineapples, instead.

Unfortunately, we are charged for items that we did not have. Once we asked the waitress about it, she offered us 2 dollars.... not great.

We've gone for breakfast twice this last week and once for dinner. I'm sure we'll go again at least a couple times before our vacation ends. The omelets are huge, we could easily share but haven't yet because they're so good. We get the bacon and ham omelet and sizzling prime rib hash browns with eggs over easy.

Pros- Friendly staff and close to our hotel.Cons- Food and price.Everyone was super friendly and welcoming. There was almost no one else in the restaurant. We ordered the coconut shrimp and they were greasy with way to much thick batter. Tasted like the oil was old. I saw drops of oil drip off my food. We paid $60 for two things of shrimp and two drinks. We left hungry and disappointed. Won't be back.

I enjoyed the coconut shrimp tikis. The visual display was intriguing and the flavor was delicious. Our waitress, Scottlyn, was phenomenal. She was super friendly and was gracious to accommodate all of the menu customizations requested by our family of four. Five stars for Scottlyn's outstanding customer service! All in all, our family enjoyed our dining experience and recommend Coconut Grill as a great place to go for a relaxing, flavorful evening meal.

The food was flavorful and reasonably priced. The drinks were potent and most of all our server Scottie treated each one of the ladies in my party (7) with individual care.
