I found my favorite restaurant in Hilo on the Big Island.I recommend the ribs & spice chicken combo. Of the 4 side dishes, I don't recommend the japchae because it's too spicy.Noodles are also good when you're craving hot soup.You can order without tip and eat in the common area or To Go.

I tried the BBQ kalbi. It come with 4 sides. The meat is a good portion for the entree. Kimchi taste fresh and are made in house. This place is located in a food court with five or so other restaurants. Service is fast. You order from the counter then when your number is called you pick up your food.

Got the kalbi plate came with 4 sides which is nice. Cabbage did not taste good though. Glass noodles and macaroni salad was good. Kimchi was just okay. Gave a good portion of rice. For paying around $25, I would’ve thought I would get a little bit more kalbi. The kalbi was overcooked on the outside almost burnt, but a little undercooked on instead which is strange. Possibly the worst kalbi I’ve had which made me sad.
Good people, bad value. I splurged for the Kalbi combo with meat jun. For a $20 plate lunch, I expected better quality and, for a place called kalbi express, their portion was small and was like eating rubber bands in sauce. Three very small pieces. The meat jun was decent but both were small portions. Don’t bother with the kalbi, just grab a piece of leather and chew on it.

We came here for lunch and ordered the kalbi plate and the BBQ chicken plate. Food was great but the cashier was a different story. This cashier was a young male that was throwing ice on his co worker every time she turned her back. He was really rude and childish.

I went to Kalbi express today because I wanted to eat Korean food I've been there many times but I haven't gone there in a while . Well the prices went up it's 1795 for a combination plate and 3.00 for s cold drink that's expensive I had to tell the guy to put a lot in my plate because he was measuring it By putting little bit at a time I told him put a lot I like vegetables .Lol..But he still was measuring he didn't care what I said I got the meat jun Mondu Combination my meat nun was cut into skinny strips to make moreBut for $17.95 The plate should be really nice and full but it wasn't. I No inflation is going up but don't raise prices and give less do you want your customers to come back for me I'm not going back I rather go to one restaurant where I can sit down and enjoy my meal for that price and yet their food. Not of high quality their customer service is horrible I used to like going there but I'm not anymore so when you're planning to eat at Kalbi express make sure you got a lot of money if you bringing your family$$$because it will cost you Aloha
