It was a full house so the service was a little bit slow but the food was great

We ordered the snow crab omelette and it came with pancakes and rice. It was delicious. Also ordered the special which was clam chowder and a grilled tuna sandwich with French fries. The clam chowder was really good - lots of depth to the flavors. Nice server. Very friendly staff throughout the establishment.

Friendly environment. Surprisingly a cup of coffee was $4.50. Way too expensive for what you get.

Pancakes were cold on more than one occasion.

Ken's is a must when you visit Hilo. I ordered the sumo pancakes with 3 eggs and bacon. I am a fat POS and I could not eat all the pancakes. It was the best breakfast I ever had!!

Wonderful local place in a great spot. The staff welcome you and you have a nice, simple meal for a reasonable price. I went back the following morning before my helicopter ride!

Drove over an hour to get here, only to find out they were temporarily closed and management didn't bother to update their hours on Google.

This is about quantity. They have a small gong they ring every time they serve a "Sumo" breakfast. These things are huge. Just the regular breakfast was big enough we took some home. There's usually a wait. The place is a little tired after so many years of so much traffic. It's a local icon for sure and worth the experience.

This is a MUST GO TO in Hilo especially during Merrie Monarch Week. The service is fast and friendly and the food is fantastic. The banana pancake and the macnut pancake with lilikoi syrup is just amazing.During Merrie Monarch Week everyone goes to Ken's to eat each of the nights. It's such a magical place. Lots of breakfast options.

Very dated and worn out tables and such. Many of my friends rate this highly. I don't see it.Staff was friendly and prompt. The food was not something I would return for.The beans were hard and stale.

Come hungry! Grabbed breakfast here before taking my flight. Place was busy, but didn’t wait long for my table. Portions were generous and reasonable priced. Great service, as everyone was smiling.

It has a very local atmosphere. The friendly store staff made it fun.Fried noodle-like yakisoba with celery accent? ? Something like that.Pancakes were delicious! The loco moco had a slightly gentle taste and felt thin!
