Best mocha I’ve ever had! This place is absolutely worth it to spend your entire paycheck over. As a chocolate lover this place is next-level. My husband said “it’s a good thing this place is not next to our house.. we’d be spending all of our money there.” …Don’t worry we’ll be back next weekend!

Delicious espresso drinks with their chocolate! Aloha coconut mocha and Merrie Mocha, for example. Decent size sitting area with tables. Very chill. Helpful staff!

I'm just gonna talk about the shop, since I did not try the bar. The powdered chocolate is ok but I couldn't feel the difference between that and nesquick, and I bought the "rich dark" which after carefull reading Is composed of over 80% of sugar (added) - non organic - a bit hurtful given the very high price.Edit : after being insulted by the owner, i'd like to reply shortly - yes the formula is better than nesquick in composition, not in taste, but that is personnal taste. I pass on the density (1,4 Vs 1,6, indeed very different). After calculation you sell - for this product only - cocoa at the price of 250$ per kilogram. And I'm 26 and sad to have spend money on this.

No photos due to my first visit was a business meeting. But I tried the mint cacao tea latte and was blown away. Highly recommend for tea enthusiasts who want to try something locally grown and interesting.

Nice spot to try and buy local chocolates and have a drink at the bar or tables. The chocolate is excellent, although pricey!! They also have a "frequent flyer" punch card. Nice place, friendly staff and I even got to try some real coco beans. Interesting...

I know a bunch of people who are addicted to their chocolate beverages, so it's pretty much a must-visit in Hilo. They do it all well, from product to packaging to display and design, with a cool contemporary feel. Grabbed a dark chocolate Easter bunny and a chocolate banana smoothie today, and noticed the cool retro nene detail under the bar. Service was great, but I was left wondering, does anyone actually say "no" to the question "do you want whipped cream on that ?" PS, They also serve chocolate alcoholic beverages.... haven't tried yet, but someday I'm gonna .....

Want to know what's better than a top notch chocolate + coffee shop? A top notch chocolate + coffee shop that also makes cocktails! Can y'all please open a shop in Denver? Okay, now that that's out of the way... Puna is amazing. High quality and locally sourced chocolate and coffee with killer beverages to boot - both boozy and caffeinated, depending on your mood and/or time of day. We stayed in Hilo and came here twice we loved it so much. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and crafts a mean drink. Because we are creatures of habit we both ordered the same thing each time: Aztec Old Fashioned for him (one of the best he's ever had, and that's saying a lot!) and Dark Chocolatini for me which was perfection. If you dig chocolate, make sure you fit them in on your visit to Hilo!

Local bean to bar chocolate always deserves 5 stars. Beautiful shop/café with a bit of an explanation of the area and cocoa growing on Big Island. They have hot chocolate, iced chocolate smoothies, coffee and other things too.

Really pricy chocolate. It tries hard to be local and be much more than a Starbucks, which it is with its character. But its chocolate bars are too expensive by double for exotic chocolate, in my experience on the mainland and in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Berlin less than a year ago.

Found this chocolate company by accident as I was looking for a coffee shop and we were blown away by the unique chocolate cocktails and the vibes were great! Highly recommend if you're in Hilo looking for a post dinner drink. Thursdays are thirsty Thursdays so drinks are 7.95!! My favorite was the espresso martini and my friends was the like water for chocolate.

Whether you like chocolate or not you will like this place. The cocktails are made expertly made. Bartenders with Aloha all around. If you can't make up your mind, they have a great sense for palates. But don't stop at the cocktails, the chocolate and coffee will have you on cloud nine.

Stopped by this shop with my wife and loved the selection of gifts and chocolates available. I tried their rich dark mocha and it was one of the best mochas I've ever had. We also took advantage of their buy 4 chocolate squares, get one free. We appreciated all of the nene humor as well. I would definitely recommend stopping here.

alcoholic and coffee beverages were delicious!! Service was great and very kind people. I would come back here every time I visit Hilo.

This place could be a cool little spot if the service wasn't so terrible. Happy hour prices looked good but hard to rate a place if you don't get a drink while the bartenders just stare at their phones.
