Not sure if they recently closed. This review was the one and only time I bought a poke bowl (bento container) awhile back and the rice had way too much vinegar that I couldn't finish it. Not sure if that was just an off day or an isolated incident but it was unbelievably way too strong.

The food here was fantastic and a great value! The poke bowl was absolutely packed with flavor and it had the perfect amount of heat. The shop/restaurant was small and unassuming, which is an additional bonus to me. Fresh, affordable, and delicious. Highly recommended!

Another "food adventure"...this time, my husband and I were craving sushi? so, I googled sushi places in Hilo and found THIS place. It's located between Ken's pancake house AND a bookstore. It only has FRONT parking because the back parking is for Ken's. They REALLY WANT YOU TO order online before coming down or you can just order out front like we did. They have all the menus and specials taped to the window along with signs for hand sanitizing, staying 6 feet away, make your order and then, wait in your car. We were greeted by one lady, SUPER nice with purple hair which, I ABSOLUTELY loved! (my fav color too?)We BOTH had the same Chiraishi bowl except, our meat was different...his was Brown sushi rice, furikake, avocado, red onion, cucumber, Kalua pig, ahi poke & sashimi. My meat was Shoyu pork along with 2 AZ teas. When she gave us our order, she gave us free soup in a coffee cup sealed with a little sticker (nice idea?) and also told us that they had A LOT of avocado and gave us two...that was ALOHA at its finest ?We ate our meal at the boat harbor and let me tell you...their food was SUPER FRESH, the fish just melted in our mouths, the vegetables were crunchy and flavors were REALLY out of this world?I HIGHLY recommend that you guys go and check them out!? I know that WE have found ANOTHER "brok' da mout'" place to eat! We WILL be returning customers??
This is it! Authentic Japanese sushi made from an actual Japanese sushi chef!If you're looking for a good, fresh, and affordable sushi then look no further! I've been coming here for years and the quality have never change. My personal fav will have to be the salmon skin roll and the shrimp tempura roll!

The food is simple and tasty. Nice to see that they only use brown rice for their sushi. I recommend the soba salad. Really fresh greens and the soba was cooked just right. Salmon skin roll was also good.

What a great treat to have after a long flight! Their poke was delicious and staff was very friendly. It was my favorite place to eat on the big island.Due to COVID, no place to eat on sight. Be prepared to eat in your car or on the sidewalk.

Hands down the best salmon nirgiri I have ever had. It melted in my mouth. Considering I have spent $6 per piece before and this place charges $4.50 for two I would consider this a steal. A must have.
