Just called them today and the voice mail said they were now closed forever! So sad as they food was good and service was too! The pandemic took another good restaurant from us with their closing. It's hard to pay continuing overhead like rent and so forth when you can't really open and serve your customers. They originally were up the street where Big City Diner is currently, and that was a great place for them. But they decided to downsize many years ago and moved to the current location. It's a family operation, and they are the nicest people too! We wish them good luck in the future, and hope perhaps someday to see them again somewhere close by once again serving great food that those of use with educated pallets need in our own survival! Thanks again for all the great food and service of the years, you will be missed!!!! Aloha! Ray Five Stars!

So this five star rating is for their amazing mole sauce, which over cheese enchiladas, is my husband's favorite dish. We have searched far and wide on Oahu for mole sauce and rediscovered Azteca. My favorite dish here are the chili rellenos. I used to eat them 20 years ago at their old location and they are still just as delicious. I've tried their tamales but found them too doughy but the chicken enchiladas are good. If I were to rate the place on their menu maybe it would not be 5 stars but when you know what you like and keep ordering it and it always taste as good as you remember, that's five stars.

Smallest beef burrito I've ever had. Quality isn't the greatest either. I thought it was a mistake it was so small. Sad, because it used to be very good. Not sure what happened.

This place tastes exactly the same as it did 12 years ago. Their Verde sauce is my FAV, and the salsa is soo yummy! I decided to write a review after seeing another mexican taco spot on the news deems as the best. No THIS place is the best!!!!!

I've been eating at this casual neighborhood restaurant for several years. I went by for a sit down inside and cool off meal but they are doing take out only now. Also the restaurant is gone, It's more like a walk up in order window now. So no cooling icy margarita for me! Good food even just for take out. We walked down Koko Avenue and went to Jose's instead. You can check out my review but I don't recommend them.

My favorite Mexican restaurant, owned and managed by true Mexican immigrants. Delicious food and friendly staff. Can't wait till they reopen for in-house dining.

My boyfriend and I always order takeout! Food is delicious and you can always expect the same great quality every time you order! My boyfriend loves their chicken enchiladas and I'm just a really big fan of their rice and beans tbh, but I've tried their chimichanga (very filling, would recommend sharing) and tacos -- I would recommend getting the larger portion.

Great food, great service! My mom and I finally decided to try this place out and we wish we started coming here sooner! We'll definitely be ordering from here again very soon :)

I was so disappointed after the reviews I saw. None of the food had flavor and the vegetables were overcooked to the point of being mush. We spent $40+ and didn't eat any of it.

My family has been eating at Azteca on Waialae and Koko Head for years. A wonderful family business that we enjoy supporting and are glad they are still with us through thick and thin. Their food has a taste that is unique and we enjoy it very much.

Perfect comfort food for mid-week takeout! My regular Chile relleno & cheese enchilada hits the spot each time... goes nicely with refried beans & rice! Other great choices are always there to more than satisfy the entire family! When post-covid allows for sit down dining, their margaritas will be there by my side!

Not the best, not the worst Mexican on island. But also, sometimes you just crave Mexican. Full disclosure, I'm from LA and have been to Mexico on multiple occasions so I'm used to all sorts of amaaaazing Mexican food. So yah, the food is very average and other than when I'm craving some spanish rice, refried beans, and enchiladas I probably wouldn't go here again. I do want to say that the staff is super friendly though. When I went, the restaurant wasn't open for indoor seating so we just walked in to order and the food took about 15 minutes and we were out. Totally wish they served sopes though, I would definitely make more trips here if they had sopes on the menu.

I'm a little underwhelmed by this restaurant. It seems like they only do take out now. And the foods are not anything special in my opinion. And I don't think they are particularly authentic. Their tamale is always like the ones I got from Costco. And their chili rellenos doesn't taste particularly flavorful.

Better off going to Taco Bell. The food has no flavor, no quality and was just a big disappointment. Even the salsa was on the bland side. Tostadas were awful (soggy tortilla, chicken had no seasoning, thin layer of refried beans that you could barely taste and a mound of shredded iceberg lettuce which made up the majority of the meal).....all making this a tasteless pick. Same with the burrito and tacos I ordered. Would go to Joseʻs right around the corner instead!
