The food is easily one of my favorite places. The salad was very unique and delicious with tea leaves in it. Shan noodle's tamato-based sauce flavour was so good. The only reason I gave it 4 star was because of a cockroach that was spotted crawling on a plate on another table waiting for customers. Unfortunately, this is probably more common than we expect in many restaurants so you'd have to just accept it. Despite this, I'm still tempted to come back and try different dishes. Three dishes were more than enough for two people as we still had enough leftover that's enough for another one person meal. Visiting from Vancouver, which is already well known for variety of top notch cuisines it offers, we actually don't have any good Burmese restaurants.Another thing tourists should know is the BYOB in Hawaii. I'm really envious you can do this in Hawaii as I experienced this for the first time here bringing own wine and enjoying the food without having to pay ridiculous mark up for some cheap wine at a restaurant.

Absolutely phenomenal food. Their spicy lamb, while not that spicy, had exceptional flavor sending my overly hard to please father-in-law into a spiral of positivity! Even their simple coconut rice dish had the perfect balance of flavors. Not particularly child-friendly, but the food was astounding enough to warrant some errant rice and samosa flakes on my lap while holding my child.
I had high hopes when I went to this restaurant. But the food was starchy and uninteresting, the service was only a tiny notch above "cafeteria" and the atmosphere was similar. If this place was super-cheap I would see its allure, but it is not. I won't be repeating.

Come enjoy the pumpkin stew, delicately seasoned kambucha squash. In a break from type, the music is of a distinctly southern acoustic sort, think Nathaniel Rateliffe.

Casual atmosphere, no frills but warm service. I ordered the Tea Leaf Salad, Palatha, and Burmese Eggplant Curry, and enjoyed all three menu items. The palatha was super flaky and the eggplant was tender and warmly spiced. Would return to try additional menu items!

This is one of my favorite shops in Honolulu ❤︎For those who like Asian cuisineA restaurant you should try♪In particular, the Dagon Tee Leaf salad has a unique taste and texture.Curry, rice, noodles, you can't go wrong no matter what you eat♪You should be able to adjust the spiciness...?And BYOB is great for drinkers✨You can bring your own favorite alcohol♪It used to be open for lunch, but now it looks like it's only for dinner.⚠️We recommend advance reservations, but we cannot connect you by phone outside of business hours.⚠️Street parking available?️Street parking is free after 6:00 (or so?). Depending on the day of the week or time of day, it may be difficult to find.⚠️To use the toilet, take the key from inside the store and go outside the store. Although it's in the back of the building, it's not clean by any means.

The staff was quick and to the point. I wouldn't consider her friendly or knowledgeable on what to recommend. The food was good and served quickly. The salad was on the crunchy side and not my preferred item. The samosa, spicy chili and the kebat were delicious. I didn't care for the pumpkin stew either. The parking is limited in the little alley way entrance right before the restaurant if coming from King and University.

Always one of our favorite restaurants. Tea leaf salad is the best. The Dagon tea leaf is not quite as good, but still delicious. The Dagon tea leaf is more crunchy, but more acidic.
