Experience Nutridge Dinner Theater
3280 Round Top Dr, Honolulu

“This is such a fantastic experience! We have been to other Luaus and this is far and away the best that we have participated in! The location is superb, and you can't even compare it to the Las Vegas style luaus we have seen before, They explain that the origin of the luau is a family gathering, and between the fantastic property where this is held , to the delicious food and the tent on the patio of a house in the mountains , this absolutely feels like a very comfortable family gathering. I promise that this will level up your trip to Oahu and will be writing a review yourself! Thank you Nutridge!Kid-friendliness: Kids will love it.“

Rock-A-Hula Dinner Theater

“We did not have the buffet dinner there. We came for only the show and it was the highlight of our trip! We will do the show every time we come here. It is well worth it. The performers were absolutely amazing. Our favorite was Elvis. He was the best Elvis we have ever seen!! We would pay to go to an evening concert just to listen to him put on show!!“

“The Hale Koa Luau was really good! The food was good and entertainment!! The dancers ( both the men and women were awesome) The young lady who was the host was a bit annoying. I know that sounds mean ‍ her voice was so nasally . She was probably all of 25 ? But was acting like a 50 something talk show host . I just don't know why she is needed in the show at all . Anyways I would go again , hopefully she will be replaced by one of the actual Hawaiian folks. fire dude was awesome as well!“

The Dinner Detective Interactive Murder Mystery Dinner Show Dinner Theater • $$

“This was somewhere between a 3 (A-OK) to 4 (Yay) for me but with no half stars, I'm up for the 4. It's always nice to have an option for a dinner date out with friends with some entertainment. The staff and actors were great The hostesses were quite attentive and friendly and kept popping to different tables to check up on everyone. The hotel banquet staff was not quite up to par, maybe because they felt that they should be more "in the background" with everything going on. The mystery was well done, some twists and turns and not as easy as you think it might be to solve the case. It was easy to figure out who was acting in the audience vs. who the audience participants were so you could narrow down the suspects quite quickly. Since both my husband and a friend was "suspect", it even made my choices slimmer. For those who like to mingle, it's a fun way of interacting and meeting people but if you are on the introverted side, this may not be for you. Quite a few customers were in the "acting community". The food was so-so for me although my group enjoyed it. Both the chicken and fish were prepared well and was covered with a sauce that was tasty. Salad and dessert were good. Beverage choices were limited but expected with limited bar service, soft drinks and coffee. This is a fun outing for a group. If you really get into solving the mystery and talk to everyone in the room, you probably would be able to get more into the case. Expect some characters..... and I don't mean Mickey. Some people can really get into this sort of thing!“

Diamond Head Luau Dinner Theater
2777 Kalākaua Ave #4027, Honolulu

“We had a great time, really fun show, fantastic dancers, good food (really good for a buffet), and a fantastic location. The dancers interacted with the audience before, during, and after the show. Fun story and great personalities that shines throughout the performances. The only downside to the evening was the main bartender that seemed to never have bartended before, and certainly did not know how to make the drinks that were the specials on the menu. The other bartender did seem to know what he was doing, and for sure had the personality to match the rest of the staff and the very sweet dancers. Overall I would recommend the luau, just maybe not the drinks.“

Queens Waikiki Luau Dinner Theater
2330 Kalākaua Ave, Honolulu

“I booked based on price and proximity to our hotel (walking distance). I didn't realise that was in the middle of a mall, which is barricaded off. It was a bit odd that people could look down at the show for free when we paid have our seat there. In saying that for interactive, my daughter my daughter love to trying all the different things, the service was amazing and it was a great experience in showing off all the cultures around the Pacific. The food was really good, as someone with dietary I wish I checked in the lead up what I could and couldn't eat. But it was all pretty delicious. The two free drinks are just soft drinks so make sure you bring money for the bar if you want to buy a drink noting they don't take cash. There was a real build to the fire aspect of the show and it was a really fun evening.Thank you for a great night, it's been the highlight of our trip so far.“

Ahaaina Luau Dinner Theater

“Ah, nothing like a romantic luau to really make you feel like you're vacationing in the Hawaiian islands. I know it's touristy, sometimes gimicky, but luaus let you bask in the glory and beauty of being able to be fortunate enough to vacation in Hawaii. You get dinner, a show, and the most beautiful ambiance. I remember going to my first luau (Paradise Cove in Oahu) on a school field trip in junior high, where us kids had a blast. My first luau as an adult was with my husband on a magical evening when we were sans baby in beautiful Maui. And now this was my third luau - this time with our sweet 6 month old baby and my parents. Each luau has been memorable in its own way. While this is not my favorite luau, it was exactly what we needed. It was the only luau within walking distance of our hotel that overlooked the beach. Huge bonus. Most of the other luaus in Waikiki didn't face the ocean. Also, it's situated in the historic Royal Hawaiian Hotel, another perk. Just walking through this gorgeous hotel was fun itself. But most importantly for us, it was so baby friendly. Going into this, I was fully prepared to miss some if not all of the show with baby in tow. Our sweet little almost 6 month old, though little, has a huge pair of lungs. And of course I didn't want to disturb other patrons. We booked a luau anyway because we wanted my parents aka sweet baby's best grandparents, to experience everything on their first Hawaii trip, including a luau. The best part of the luau for me was that there was a nice area in the far back with rocking chairs, away from the patrons but still in view of the show. When my baby was grumpy, all I had to do was grab my plate/drink, take a seat in the rocking chair, and I could tend to my baby while still being able to enjoy my meal and show. This was such a huge unexpected blessing. No angry stares from patrons, baby and mommy get to be away and still not miss out on any of the fun - what a win win. I was so happy. The food was pretty good. The first part was a little bento box with fresh fruit, shrimp kimchi salad, potato salad, salad greens, and poi. Very refreshing and easy to eat. It was a nice opening to the full meal. The second part was the entree, which came with giant portions of chicken, salmon, kalua pork, and corn on the cob. I couldn't finish all the food so my husband and dad both happily divvied up all the extra meat. The proteins were all cooked really well. I enjoyed the chicken most. The kalua wasn't dry at all. The salmon was flake off the fork. And finally there was a little dessert cup with some huapai. Not the best luau food I've had. The best was definitely the one in Maui. But this was still really good. Each ticket comes with 2 drink vouchers. We had a grand time enjoying these drinks. The only one who really took advantage of the alcoholic beverages was my dad. He loved his Blue Hawaiians. But everyone else really enjoyed the virgin pina coladas. We had a few extra vouchers in the end so we finished them up by getting a few bottles of water to bring back to our hotel. The entertainment was very fun, lively, and engaging. Of the 3 luaus I've been to, it was probably on the weaker side, but it was still so much fun. It's always fun learning about Hawaiian history, viewing fire dancers and hula dancers, all under a tropical sky. Ultimately, we were so grateful we were able to all enjoy such a wonderful night even with a little 6 month old baby. Everyone, including baby, had a great time. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful night with sweet memories.“

Ka Moana Luau Dinner Theater
1 Aloha Tower Dr, Honolulu

“This was my first luau. We got the “celebrity” seating. The food is delivered in a takeout box as soon as you sit down. You can go to the bar for a welcome drink. The band is playing before the show, which was nice. The host was a bit cheesy but the dancers and music were good. Fire dancing at end was very cool.Paid $220 per seat. For that much money I guess I expected more—like a waitress, buffet, etc. But overall I’m glad we did it.“
