We had the tallarines verdes con milanesa, the empanada of aji de gallina and the empanada con lomo saltado. The place is clean and Miguel is very friendly and attentive. Recommended.

Omg the anticuchos was delicious! The owner had our food (4items) ready in 15 min or less. Speedy service. We ate a nearby bench and enjoyed this delicious peruvian food on a nice warm day. 10/10 would go again :)

Peruvian food in Kaka'ako...Super easy to find this cute white food truck on Cooke Street right along side Mother Waldron Park every weekday (Monday thru Friday) 10am to 3pm and though I have no idea exactly what Peruvian cuisine are so I decided to check them out.Menu choices are small though each dish seems quite labor intensive with beef seems to be the protein of choice...Antichos (skewers), Hawaiian Juane (turmeric rice with teriyaki beef) and sides including empanada and Crab Causa all with pics and descriptions it's a matter of preference as each dish has some solid flavor qualities.Since I've already eaten I decided to keep it simple with an Empanada and though it's a decent size $7 is a bit leaving your wallet hungry considering just awhile ago they were selling it for $4 though generously filled with beef and various veggies which I taste potatoes, onions, roast peppers and raisins as this hearty bite is topped with huacatay sauce which was a nice herb and lime sauce that was just spectacular. The flavor explosion the put into just the empanada I can just imagine their main plates...gah!!! The gentleman was just a delight feeling on my unfamiliarity greeted with the usual "let me know if you have any questions" was just a delight asking it comes with a sauce and if I wanted it on top or the side and if I needed any utensils...all are very appreciated as I constantly leave forgetting it. Will definitely be back for their main entrees as El Gallo dishes out some serious flavors!Thank you!

Everything was delicious and filling. Service was great. My order took about 8 to 10 minutes to receive. Would definitely go back again.

El gallo is a Peruvian food truck. They have a limited menu, but I definitely recommend getting their anticuchos since it is one of their most popular item. The prices is very reasonable since there is only one person working in operations, plus their food is so Instagrammable. I would love to try their other food on their menu, next time!- Anticuchos : twice marinated beef skewers with a side of fried rice, corn and potatoes drizzled with huacatay sauce. - Empanadas: meat and vegetable turnovers- Chica morada: refreshing fruit drinking and tastes very similar to spiced apple cider.- Mazamorra Morada: a purple fruit pudding topped with cinnamon and pineapple. The flavor is very similar to spiced apple cider, but in a jelly form.

Absolutely delicious peruvian food, stumbled upon it at the Farmers Market in Kaneohe they popped up at and have made sure to recommend to anyone I know. Love the Anticuchos, potatoes, rice, and corn! We've ordered it more than a few times for lunch on Uber Eats so it's convenient to get delivered to work since our breaks aren't long enough to run in town to Cooke St. Has really great food and such nice and friendly people.

Do these beef skewers come from a magic cow? Why are they so tender? And flavorful? So good! El Gallo has a pretty slim menu but the food is so good it doesn't even matter. The anticuchos plate comes with fried rice that is truly delicious, those magic cow beef skewers that are out of this world, grilled potato, and grilled corn on the cob. Should I try the Hawaiian juane? Well, probably. But you know how it is when you've found something that is just your soul match - you can't stop getting it! We also tried the picarones - which are butternut squash doughnuts - as well as the chicha morada. Delish! I'm hoping he'll bring back the empanadas because I've seen the sad faces when he tells folks he doesn't have them. They MUST be amazing! El Gallo is a one-man operation so be kind and patient. It is absolutely worth the wait, and prices are very fair too. They're very friendly and the food is reliably high quality every single time you get it. Every time. Amazing. Are there pictures of my food? No. Because I ate it all. Maybe next time. ;D

Contacting these guys is like a bigfoot expedition. They say we'll be open from 3pm till 9pm at Don Quijote town and at 3pm they say we are done for the day but we'll be back tomorrow!??? I'd have a better chance finding bigfoot.

Saw the truck at the Ono Grindz last weekend that was hosted at the Kroc Center. I've been seeing him around on Yelp, Instagram, and was even recommended by a friend. So, of course, we have to try it! I got the anticuchos plate and he whipped it up in no time. I was the only customer at the time so it was quite fast and owner was so friendly! I also ordered a purple corn punch and he made sure I had that before he finished up my plate to cool off in the hot sun. The punch wasn't for me, but if you like jamaica and spiced drinks this could be something for you. It sort of reminded me of a non-alcoholic mulled wine. Unfortunately I was only able to sneak in 4 sips before I dropped the entire cup on the ground and spilled it everywhere The anticuchos plate was sooooo ono-licious. Definitely worth the recommendations and portion size. The rice was interesting and tasted sort of like a garlic/onion mix. Sort of like something I'd have at a Teppan place. The corn was so good. Perfectly cooked and my mom ended up sneaking it off my plate to snack on.

I had no idea what to expect when I tried El Gallo - we don't have too many places here that offer Peruvian food. But once I smelled the aroma coming from the truck, I knew this was going to be good! I'm still thinking about how delicious the anticuchos plate was. The beef skewers were very tender and moist! The fried rice, corn, and potatoes were all spiced to perfection. The owner is very friendly and appreciative of your patronage.

Lo probamos, nos gustó! Regresaremos. Probamos las empanadas y anticuchos, y qué gusto tomarse una Inka Cola!
